Steve, aren't the differences you point out the differences between the army-issued Soldier (José's knife) and the civilian Pioneer (your knife)?When did they change the cross, go to a solid rivet on the caplifter/screwdriver and punch end, and add the tab for a split ring?

That might be because I have had it only about a month or so. It has become my almost-daily carry, but it still looks pretty good. I strop it, carry it in a leather slip (which should cause some surface color changes on the handle), use it in the barn constantly, cut food, stir drinks, pop open bottles, open boxes, and on and on. It's still looking almost new. I will continue to post pics and we can watch it age.Please Forgive me.
