I agree thanks. I think Mike likes doing jigging. Well it looks like it to me. I enjoy the podcast and I’ve embraced the term pocket knife instead of slipjoint.Absolutely stunning! Love the jigging on that as well
Thanks Gus. Great thread.Love that tear drop
Same here! I think pocket knife is a much better term in general. The Catch Bit Show has been perfect for yard work. Those guys are great together.I agree thanks. I think Mike likes doing jigging. What a stunner! That paper micarta is choice!![]()
Still can't believe I get to own this, all thanks to some luck (and obsessive hovering) right here on the exchange. Mike's grind, walk and talk, and f&f are impeccable![]()
That is absolutely stunning. Is it shadows or are the edges dark?![]()

Thank you, they're black liners and with the light translucency of the paper micarta, it gives a fade effect very much like shadow lines. That is absolutely stunning. Is it shadows or are the edges dark?

I’m not familiar with NYKC now I have some home work. Nice!Mike's knives are beyond amazing. The fit and finish of his folders are as good (or better) than any of the best custom knives out there.
Thought it would be fun to show one of Mike's folders along side an example of one of the best American cutlery companies of all time, New York Knife Company.
N.Y.K.C. also happens to be one of Mike's absolute favorite old cutlery companies.

Good idea in theoryHerder, we need some new technology for this old traditional forum. Something that would let me coon-finger that Hammer Brand through the computer!
I don’t know how to execute one, but a small custom maker gathering would be excellent!Good idea in theory, but a better reason for more knife related get togethers around the country.
I’m in awe. Wonderful collection you got thereHey all! Just heard this thread had been started and glad to hear it was! I thought I’d post a pic of some of Mikes knives I own. Fortunately I have two more on the way, both in black canvas micarta; I can’t wait!

Thanks!!!! The jigged black micarta one is my pride and joy at the moment. I bought it from someone on Facebook and it was dented and dinged up. Based on posts, I've seen several different people have owned it over the last couple years. After getting it, I reached out to Mike to see if he would be kind enough to fix it up for a charge ... He agreed, I sent it to him, and he ended up doing a heck of a lot of work on it and came back looking brand new. He also said the work was free of charge but if we meet in person, I just owe him a couple beersI’m in awe. Wonderful collection you got there
Michael, all the displayed knives are awesome. Thanks for sharing a new cutler and his great skills.Feeling like he deserves a dedicated thread. I have the pleasure of owning one of his and it’s one of my favorites. Definitely up there with some of the best. I love this sheepfoot for its thinness and the impeccable fit and finish.
If you have one of his, would love to see it posted here.
