military issued knives

The Dutch army has the same knife, only with a different logo.

Victorinox Soldier Knife

Bundeswehr (German Forces) and Swiss Army (of cause with the Swiss having the Swiss Cross instead of the German Eagle on the scales)

Typical Victorinox, high quality, excellent finish.
Blade: liner lock, 85 mm long

however tragic: the tooth pic and the tweezers in the scales are missing

BTW: please some support to that threat, there must be more military issued knives around.

Really like that German Hirschkrone.

Camillus Jet Pilot Survival Knife. Don't think they had the service contract when this one was made.

And you would be correct sir. The commercial version lacked the steel plate between the guard and the leather washers as well as the blade stamping became Camillus USA.

WWII M3 PAL Cutlery Knife with Barwood M6 Scabbard - Marked 1943 on Scabbard and Blade

The M3 fighting knife or M3 trench knife was an American military combat knife first issued in March 1943. The M3 was originally designated for issue to soldiers not otherwise equipped with a bayonet. However, it was particularly designed for use by elite or 'shock' forces in need of a close-combat knife such as airborne troops and Army Rangers, and these units received priority for the M3 at the start of production. The M3 trench knife was discontinued in August 1944. After the M1 Carbine was modified to accept a knife-type bayonet, the M3's blade and handle design was incorporated on the new bayonet, officially designated the Bayonet, U.S. M4.

A gift from my Commander back in 1988. A mentor. And to this day, still a friend. USN Mk3 Mod 0.

In 1984, I bought this Glock M81 Field Knife in a now gone knife shop on "VD" Drive just off Fort Benning, GA. Cost me 24 bucks, IIRC. It has travelled in my ruck nearly everywhere I have. Never carried it on any gear. Just in a ruck. Put it through hell in Indochina and the south Pacific when I was a CILHI Search and Recovery Team Leader in the early 1990s.

An NSN doesn't mean it's actually issued. Just that it's in the national stock system and might be orderable. A CAGE code is usually used for widespread issue items. Some units might issue something, but it's still not a regular issued item, or just an option.
Most units have their own funds they can use to buy just about everything, from the division, or separate brigade down to the individual companies. That's how you see some units with London Bridge medic bags, while others are using the standard issue. Some units bought everyone different eyepro or earpro than normal. All on the NSN system because it's easy. It's also somewhat easy to get into the NSN system.
My guard unit was issued Gerber auto knives. One of many knives that could be ordered by a unit on the NSN system, but again it's not really an issue item in the sense that the M9 bayonet is. Many combat engineer units have been issued the Gerber EOD multitool, though those seem to keep disappearing from the kits. Look up a few pics of what people are carrying and wearing and you'll see a lot of unit purchased items around. So they are issued, but not standard issue I guess you could say.

Just contact Victorinox & I am sure that you can get replacements. They sent me about a dozen springs for my Swiss Champ for the scissors. NO CHARGE! I was impressed. This is a fairly new model.
