I still like the knife from Frank's Classic Knives best. After all, it has the most unique shield of them all. Most of the rest of the shields are pretty neat, the old man shield is extremely unique among pretty standard stuff! Then realizing the story, of Wilhelm Busch, the man behind the shield, just tops it off. Grab one of these while there is a chance.

I am waiting for the DLT models to come out. I like the oak leaf shield and some of their cover options. RED,,,ummm.

Yeah the only thing I've seen are the tortoise cover blocks but that's about it for the DLT SFOs. They are Northfield's too so those could be towards the end of the run. All of the planned DLT covers look promising.

I'm really on the fence with these 14s. When the year started that was my only target knife. But then I picked up one of the new 15s, which it turns out is a great size and overall knife. Then the forum knife came along and I had to order one of those after all the polling fun. So now I'm struggling to rationalize another knife this year. Fortunately, the only covers that are really appealing to me right now are the cobblestone, as well as potentially the appaloosa and stag when those start showing up. I guess I'll have to decide when those finally drop, if any stay on the shelf long enough. I haven't been able to justify any of the pre-orders thus far with the price unknown, so I passed on all of those (except the CC ones which disappeared too fast to even decide to pass on).

Here is a 15 single blade with chain, above a 14 two blade. Both are ebony.

Very little size difference. I prefer the 14 over the 15, and the 14 over a Case peanut.

Does your preference here have anything to do with the width, with two blades on the 14 vs single blade on the 15? Or do you favor the shorter length?

I've always been told that length doesn't matter, it's the thickness.
