Black oak, some really cool, tight grain on this piece
Interesting for sure, forgive me, when I first laid eyes on it, I was thinking boy that sure looks like the ole standby cereal shredded wheat. :oops::p

Glad you asked as I was curious too. The grain behind the knife is typical oak, but the swirls and the way they are torn at different depths is baffling. Might be worth having stabilized.

Yeah I am definitely holding onto that chunk of wood. I have never seen such a knotted up piece of oak. Those deep wood green bones are awesome!

Received my Ironwoods today. Noticed there was a little gap around the shields when ordering but doesn't bother me. Really loving the wood on the bottom one. Now to decide which one is mine and which one is my son's.... (he's 6 months old).
