I'm guessing street will be somewhere between $125-135 just based on Cold Steel's normal street vs MSRP, which seems super competitive for what you're getting. And those contoured scales look super comfy.
That's probably accurate. Historically CS street price has been around 55% of the MSRP. So it should be around $125 range, which is a good deal IMO.

Actually, blade HQ already assigned street price for them, they are just hidden, but there's some trick to find that info. You can see the street price by typing the product name in their search box, and the search result drop down will show the street price for these product.

For example, the Triad Bush Ranger is listed as $140 street, and the Storm Cloud is $190 street.

Base on the examples above, the street price seems to be around 62-65% of MSRP.

Good one thanks
Hmm the storm is 20cv 3mm thickness (code 4 I believe is 3.5mm)
Sr1 has 2 screws rather than 3 at the end

I think I’m leaning on the sr1 because I feel Cold Steel excels in xl and thicker knives. But I’m gonna have to wait on reviews if they fixed the previous problems

Yeah i hope it's just a typo and that they would use 3.5mm blade stock. Most of cold steel's g-10 triad lock models has 3.5mm blade(Recon 1, lawman, ultimate hunter, swift, hold out etc.).

Personally, I'm actually a little more intrigued if it really is 3mm. Most of my Cold Steel folders have come nice and thin behind the edge and I think they're underrated slicers. Could really make the Storm Cloud a cutting machine.

I wouldn’t say 3mm is a deal killer for people who want a gentleman edc who is a secret assassin. The thinner stock would fit more in the design philosophy. I would regard 20cv as a super steel and probably quite tough.
With that being said I still wouldn’t get it because I feel the tri ad is a bit overkill(heresy) for a small edc type. I can fill that role with other type locks(better fidget) and higher end brands that have better fit and finishing. Thinner blade stock also means thinner triad lock and if the lock is stiff, that thin piece digs in the thumb harder than possibly a rajah 2 or 4 max which is very manageable.
I dunno I have to see that one in person..

Tai Pan in San Mai. Thought I would never see these in production again. I remember how excited I was when they announced the 3V model a few years ago. Can't wait to handle one in person.

Wow... should I keep the Black 3v Magnum Tanto II I literally ordered 5 days ago or return it for the return of San Mai

EDIT: you know what? I will keep the Black 3v. The street price of the new vg-10 san mai is significantly cheaper. Cheap enough for me to pick one up too down the line. btw is that a hollow grind?

Cold steel is my favorite company, but i have to say this is a massive disappointment. Especially considering the great knives that have been discontinued, this whole offering just feels lazy. And the naming on the blade, seriously? storm cloud with a lightning bolt? my goodness, project manager for 2018 was surely drunk. They couldn't even add a satin variant to the Recon, AK and Lawman lineup. These companies must just live in their own bubble and pay no attention to what the public want on forums or social media. Wont be getting a cent of my money on any of that lineup.

  • The Storm cloud is quite nice. I want to try that Luzon the most though. Too bad it has that stupid clip.

Bush Ranger is the only one that interests me. Great design.

There isn’t a person working in the knife industry today that knows more about the Tanto than Cold Steel does. It was, after all, Cold Steel who invented and popularized this knife style in the early 1980’s. We have spent millions of dollars persuading the public, both through advertising and live or videotaped demonstrations, of the Tanto’s many advantages. We have been producing Tanto’s for more than 30 years now, and there is still no factory or custom knifemaker around making a Tanto that can approach the cutting, slashing or piercing power of one that is manufactured by Cold Steel. All of our Tantos feature a deep lustrous satin finish on the hollow ground blade bevels and a contrasting line grain finish on the blade flats. This technique highlights our state of the art grinding methods and emphasizes the Cold Steel Tanto’s unique appearance. In addition, the Tanto’s come with our famous flattened oval Kraton® handle. The oval shape provides a solid grip and resists rolling or twisting in the hand under hard use, the kind that, over time, would destroy a lesser knife. The use of Kraton® in knife handles is another Cold Steel innovation. Kraton® is an unparalleled space age material that won’t crack or rot and is immune to the ravages of bad weather. The tapered, solid steel pommel is another important Tanto feature that should not be ignored. Lynn Thompson designed it to concentrate the full force of a crushing blow in a small area so that even a moderately powerful blow can be remarkably effective in disarming or otherwise incapacitating an attacker. The Tanto series knives in San Mai® all come with a thick, high quality Secure-Ex™ sheath that is sure to give years of hard service and keep your Tanto at your side, ready for action

I find that little bit of advertising absolutely hilarious and full of BS claims to outright lies.

I also find the San Mai Cold Steels an absolute ripoff because the core inside is not some ultra high end steel, it is just VG10. I think a monosteel vg10 blade would be better of you want vg10.

I'll probably pick up the medium Luzon purely out of curiosity as to how the first Cold Steel flipper will perform.
