I got two, from DeadWood knives, with an additional Cyber Monday discount. Great shop.

Regarding the knives, they will be used and have a purpose around the house and at the beach; but to be honest, I'm a little disappointed how flimsy they are. It's not an Endura, that for sure, without liners, and with the scale screws not even going through to the other side, but attached with nuts glued into the clip-side scale. What's the point of an almost 4" blade in a great and tough steel but attached to a piece of plastic only ?

Sorry guys,

Roland.

I absolutely understand and respect your opinion and thoughts. I don’t own one so can’t comment of the quality of construction.
But I’ve owned many many Spydercos over the years and even the ones that might feel flimsy by maybe trying to flex the Frn by holding the blade and instead using it how it was intended you normally won’t even notice any flex with using it how it was intended. I can pretty much guarantee spyderco had much thought in every aspect of its designed.
Someday I will get one but when I’m not sure. Again I like many others I’m sure respect your thoughts and appreciate your input :)

Nor is it supposed to be an endura. I hope your disappointment is in the lack of research you put in before the purchase and not with the knife or Spyderco because the Pacific Salt 2 lc200n is exactly what the Spyderco Salt line is all about. Thin, light, rust proof. The fact that this knife has skeletonised frn scales with some flex is far from a secret, in fact it is a desired result of the salt line's stated purpose. Even if they threw in some rust proof liners, the added weight wouldn't be welcome, imo. If I want a more robust knife like the endura, I grab an endura.

Well there is certainly choice .... if I want a more robust knive, with lc200n, I'll grab the Carribean. Like I said, the knives will be used, and I knew what I was getting into as I have an H1 PS2. But that was significantly cheaper not so long ago .... and so is the Endura in VG10, BTW. And 70 vs 100g, I don't feel the difference in my pocket.

Anyways, don't mind my critique, carry on :)

I felt the same way when the E4/D4 moved from saber grind to FFG. The change in balance and weight made the knife feel less robust and capable. However, in use that was obviously not the case. I sort of feel the same comparing the thick, hollow ground blade of the Pacific 2 H1 to the FFG tapered LC200N model but I've already put some hard use on the LC200N and I think it's up to the task, even if it doesn't quite feel as good yet. The LC200N model is also better for carry where weight is an issue. It just disappears clipped to running shorts, for instance.

Ditto. Comparing the two side by side, the old h1 Pacific salt with thicker saber hollow grind feels blade heavy now.

When you guys say “flimsy” do you mean the ease of squeezing the handle scales together? I saw a couple of reviews on YouTube where the reviewer said it was easier to flex the endura handles than the PS2
