"Persian"? Blade shape purpose? (Benchmade Bedlam)

Espada XL.
If you can actually carry this folding short sword and learn how to best use it for SD , it's pretty hard to to compare with lesser folders .

OAL= 17+" , with 13" out in front of the most rearward grip option . Reach , tip speed , leverage are far superior to normal folders of any design .

Can even be used with a two hand grip , for greater power and leverage .

The blade is 7.5" long and 2" wide , great for slashing but also surprisingly good at thrusting / stabbing due to the rhino horn, clip point .

Considering the size , not that hard to carry in the front pocket of work pants or a cargo pocket .

I avoided the XL version of the Espada for many years , thinking it was impractical to carry . Finally bought one because it was a great deal , and discovered it was much easier to carry on my woods trail walks than a machete .

It does fine work as a medium machete , but I would not use it for heavy hardwood chopping . It is really more designed to slice enemies .

Note ruler is 13" (not 12") and the tiny looking knife is an average size folder :

Will pic tomorrow, too late now, but I have two regular XLs, a fancy S35VN one, intended for woodsy stuff once I can sharpen properly, and a trainer.

I was just talking about this on Reddit, I think a lot of folks vastly overstate the size of the Espada XL. It can fit in every single one of my pants, jeans, sweatpants, anything. It might show a little bit of butt, not much more than a PM2 with a normal clip. It is seriously low-key, especially with a shirt covering the pocket. I intend to make a video, showing how a shorter, smaller guy like myself can very easily carry such a knife. And for practicality or straight coolness, the wave function works great.

I got a horizontal/vertical sheath for mine just today, actually. For a bit more elegant carry of my most elegant one.

have been trying to get into some real MBC lately, though the practice with the trainer helps. What I need to do, is figure out how to best utilize the shape for specific disabling of muscles, as I would do with a Yojumbo or Civvie. It probably ain't too different, though practice always helps. BTW, dig yours with the Ruike 👍 I like a Douk-Douk with mine, just for the similar shape pair.
