Pics of customized production knives

Good looking knives. Handles make them look all together different.
I'm looking at ESEE's now. (next kinife possibly) Nice job.

Thanks, I HIGHLY recommend them. They really are one of the better production knives out there with a no BS attitude and warranty

With the knife disassembled, I hand rubbed each scale with fine steel wool, then 400-grit, 800-grit, and finally 1000-grit WetorDry sandpaper.
I spent about 15 minutes per grit per scale (2 hours total time).
Here is the before and after:

Could you tell us how you did the stippling on the endura? Thanks!

EDIT I see that you did it with a spring loaded punch, but I don't have one of those--what dremel attachment should I use?

If you're serious about tinkering with knives and guns then you need to spend $5 and get yourself a spring loaded center punch. It's an absolute must to help you locate holes for drilling accurately. Plus, it can help you break our car windows if you ever need to!

If I wanted to duplicate this with a Dremel I would either use a tiny ball end mill or just use a small drill bit.

That's all me.
I did it all the day before Christmas.
Thanks for the compliment, I like it too.
I love the look of the open build/standoffs.

Sorry about that
Well, at the time i didn't had any stripper, so i used sandpaper
I went from 80 grit up to 1200 grit(i couldn't find any 2000 grit where i live :( )

Then i went to a hardware store and bought some polishing discs and compound and started to polish the knife

The edge is whittling hair, and it's biting much deeper in the wood now

I'm lovin' this thread!:thumbup::thumbup:

I've been thinking about making some custom scales for a number of my production knives for a long time, and you've all given me some great examples and ideas.

I love the natural materials (burls, sheep's horn, stag etc.) so I'll have to see what I can come up with.

Great thread and pics fellas (and ladies), keep it up!

I want to play too!

First, my polished and "dremelled" CS American Lawman. A real workhorse!
