Photos Pictures of grippy handles

Terotuff..... One of the earliest knives I made M2 steel, Crazy Hard. It was made specifically with a longer guard area of the handle to keep the hand away. This is a late 50 year old trapper's knife, for gutting and skinning Coons. The guy kills Many Hundreds.... Of Everything..... Often.
He did not want to get cut covered in coon blood. Said it's the Best knife he ever used.

That looks great stripped!!

Did the coating come off without sanding?

I’ll have to do that to mine and will look into those scales as well. 👍
Thanks
Yes, I used paint remover being careful to not get any on the coating under the scales. I played with mustard for patina.

Got tired of the rough machine lines. Ended up spending hours sanding the machine lines off.

I would not recommend taking on the task of removing the grind lines. It’s a lot of work
Be happy with mustard patina and grind lines

G10 is already grippy, but adding two grooves for the index and middle fingers makes it even more slip-resistant!

This handle (Cold Steel Barong Machete) is not particularly grippy. I wrapped it in electrical tape and roughened it up a little with sandpaper. The butt is quite grippy though: the hook at the end makes it virtually impossible for you to release the knife accidentally while you are chopping.

Possible alternatives to electrical tape: hockey tape (a woven fiber tape sorta like coach's athletic tape) or tennis racket grip tape (very thin foam covered with fake leather).

And a concurring shout-out to Res-C from Busse/SwampRat/Scrapyard on the SYKCo WD5 and SureTouch on the David Mary Badger Scout.
