Professional knife sharpening. 40 years of experience. Knife modifications/Regrinds

Thank you Unit for helping Richard out. I really appreciate it and I know that Richard does.
As to your skills? I have a Spyderco in my hand right now with one of your edges and a straight razor that you honed. I have been shaving with the razor regularly since you honed it and it is still going strong. The Spyderco edge is absolutely wicked.
I would recommend your sharpening skill to anyone.

Thank you for the kind words. I will certainly do my best not to disappoint anyone.

hello, some friends told me to look here for this kind of help, I have a griptilian I buy used but it doesnt have a good edge (bad seller-short story)...

Cant find the apropiate tools for sharpening here in Ecuador, so I kindly request to help me with this... my mail is ntorresla@gmail.com

i want to thank ken for helping me out. i'm not 100% sure yet but i'm going to try and see if i can do some (v edge) sharpening next week but on some of my knives just to get back into the swing of things. i have quite a few boxes of knives here already that i will get done before i accept any more. since i have been out of commision for a while i'm going to need to get back at it since i'm low on funds :D

I just wanted to echo my thanks to unit for taking over in Richard's absence. He took an edge/profile I had completely botched and turned it into a hair popping masterpiece. I couldn't be happier with his work.

That being said, I'm glad you're returning to health
Richard. Everyone missed you around here.

unit was the only person i would trust to take over for me and i knew he would make everybody happy (and not put a novelty edge on anybodys knife in the process).

Thank you for the kind words, your trust, and confidence in my work. I am glad you are doing better!

Richard,

It was good to speak with you earlier...and I'm glad to hear that you continue to feel better. And I'm really looking forward to having you work your sharpening magic on the knives we discussed, once you're back on your feet.

As a first official post, I'll also try to attach a photo of a knife I got earlier this year that I've really enjoyed...

chris, let me get caught up with what i have to do already.

today i went down the basement and finished up a couple of knives so i could send them out. i'm not 100% yet but i hope to be soon.
i'm going to take care of what i have here in house already and then i'm going to start going through my emails from the day i injured myself until i get caught up with everybody.

i'm sending out emails to members that contacted me about sharpening knives for them while i was in the hospital. i'm still not 100% yet but i will try to get knives out the same day i get them in (except for weekends). i started sending out emails to thoes that contacted me just before going in the hospital. since i'm still not 100% yet i'm going to limit myself to how much i do but i will try to get knives sent in for a basic sharpening back out the same day they come in with weekends being an exception.

since unit is into straight razors more than i am, anyone that has a dull razor can contact him to get it back into shape. (he made post 150 above)

if a razor has a chip and needs reground to remove the chip, i can remove it if the chip is not bad.

i will be going back in the hospital around the first of august to get put back together so anyone wanting anything done after i go in will need to contact unit.

i'll post the date i have to go in.

Richard is a pleasure to deal with! He provides excellent communication throughout the entirety of the process and is eager to ensure your satisfaction.

He also is more than willing to teach you about the process. He's really a class act.

Just got my knives back from Richard and they are super sharp! I've got bald spots all over my legs from playing with these blades. I will absolutely use Richard again.

Thanks again, I really appreciate the time you put into them.

Did I mention these knives are sharp!?? I typically try to avoid using bandaids for cuts, but I'm up to two thanks to these edges.

Just got another batch back from Richard, superb edges as always!

This time I also sent him a fixed blade hunter to shorten any about half an inch, he did an outstanding job if keeping the overall flow of the knife the same, I couldn't be happier with the result.
