Just as I was getting to my cabin today on my ATV, a frigging porcupine was heading towards the woods from close to the cabin. I only had my 629 with hardcast Buffalo Bore rounds with me, so I put the wheeler in park and launched off and squeezed off a round at about 25 yards as he was making a getaway. Nailed him. I go check on it, and then get back on my ATV to ride up to the front, and another porcupine is headed the other direction at a run, trying to make it to the drop off in front of the cabin. Holy cow- could not get any closer than 40 yards, but got it as it was dropping over the side. They had been trying to get into my shed.

Edited to add the second one was a lucky shot!

Porkies cause so much damage, we shoot them on sight, no questions asked 👍
 
For all you monsters out there who think, "meh, I'll just slap another coat of paint on here." - including over the lovely old copper hardware - instead of getting down to bare wood first... know this:

Sometime down the line someone will have the gumption to do what you were unwilling to do and be cursing your name with every new application of stripper.
