Reate Knives would like to talk a little bit about one important technique—Freeze Edging Skill.

As the final process for a blade, edging has a great effect on the performance of the knives, after all, the edge part is the main function area when using a knife. Normally, edging is operated on a high-speed running grinding wheel or grinding belt, which produces a very high temperature. Without a cooling system, the temperature on the edge goes up instantly to hundreds of centigrade, when it gets worse, it will burn and leave heat marks on the blade. Tempering or even annealing will happen on area of the edge where the temperature increasing instantly. It will harm the hardness and durability of the blade. That’s why some knives passing the hardness standard test but still easily get worn in actual use.

Reate Knives are using the freeze edging technique. During grinding, the temperature on the edge is controlled in a certain level of degree, which helps keep the hardness after the heat treating. Therefore, the sharpness and durability of the blade are assured. This helps bring the performance of the material to the best.

Thank you very much for your time.

Reate Knives Team.

Can’t see the pics. Photobucket doesn’t let you do 3rd party posting for some reason anymore. They want you to pay to be able to do it.

Hi Lapedog, Thank you for letting us know.
Can you please give some advice how we could pay for these?
Thank you so much for your time.

Are we going to see M390 standard Torrents as well as the Damasteel ones? I really love this design and regret missing the first run.

In the dealer pre-order listing (arrived last week) there were no New Torrent versions with Damasteel damascus but only with Damasteel RWL34. So no M390 blades.

ReaTe ReaTe while most of us have pretty much cast PhotoBucket aside due to how the change created a rather high price hike we recommend alternatives to the old PhotoBucket and I am sure there are some quality ones that aren't free but there are also a number of free options too. If you still wish to stay with PhotoBucket you can pay for their service on the account used for the business image sharing.

We use postimage.org which is totally free and easy to use.

They don't get upset about, guns, knives or militaria. I've used them since about 2005 when Photobucket kicked me off their site because of weapons content.

Photobucket don't need any reason to kick you off - post something they don't like and you are gone.....

Take a screenshot of your images so you have a low rez image or your photo. Then use the option to Post Images on Blade forums. No need for a third party to get involved.

I super love Damasteel, but for performance I wanted M390. I think a Damasteel backspacer would be awesome though.

Just so everyone knows what we are talking about -

The blade steel on the Torrent - RWL34 steel - is a "Damasteel" company product.

The Damasteel normally associated with the company "Damasteel" (Damasteel Inc in the US) is the stainless version of Damascus which they also call Damasteel.

But yes just one Torrent with a Damasteel blade and Damasteel backspacer would have been cool.

Ohhhhh OK that helps. I thought they meant it was Damasteel's RWL34/PMC27 patterned steel, not their plain RWL34.

Yes, that also negatively impacts my likelihood of purchasing. Not that RWL34 is not good steel, but unless the price point drops a bit accordingly, it's not worth the same price as the knives they were putting out in M390 and CTS204P.

That's what my customers said as well. They wanted M390 like the original.

So did I since I didn't keep an original Torrent myself.

Ugh, the original was such a great value.

Also there would never have been any confusion in the first place if not for Photobucket, since RWL34 and RWL34/PMC27 Damasteel are, um, pretty easy to tell apart.

Agreed.

Here's the four models they are releasing. No patterned Damasteel models - at least not for general sale.

Our account rep at Reate just confirmed they will have some Damasteel Torrents but the release date is not known yet.

I like the double inlay with the bronze anodized frame, though. That is a good-looking knife. Do you know what the small gold-colored textured inlay piece is? I like the design so much I might get one anyway. But I say that about a lot of knives. Too many knives, too little money.

Hey also, True Talon True Talon , do you have photos of the other 2018 releases? Obviously ReaTe ReaTe posted a bunch of threads, but they don't appear to have figured out their photo hosting.

ReaTe - why and why in lords name do you continue to use photosuckit to post pictures of your precious knives that nobody can see?
