Ok so this is a short review of the ZT 0566. The little brother of the ZT 0560. I got it in the mail today and I have to say i'm am really stoked about it!
I bought it on pre order in June here in The Netherlands so I had to wait a long time. But it is worth it!
The knife came sharp but not REALLY sharp out of the box. I had to touche it up with a fine ceramic rod and a strop. Now it is hair popping This is my first ELMAX steel and I have heard some good and bad stories about it. Time will tell how the steel holds up but I am confident.
In a few comments here I read that the 0566 would be to heavy due to the steel liners, not the Titanium ones of his big brother.
I honestly don't think it is too heavy. It is a bit chubby for a small knife but it gives you confident feel and like they say it feels like it's " built like a tank".
The knife lies really good in the hand. No hots spots what so ever. For the people who like to put a lanyard on the knife it has a big lanyard hole but I don't use lanyards on my EDC's. The balance is good and it sports a deep carry pocket clip which I love! The blade centering is perfect as you expect.
I made some pics to compare it with the Spyderco Para 2 just to have a look and see how big (small) it is. The Para 2 weights 105 grams and the 0566 154 grams on my kitchen scale. But again I don't think it is a problem for me that it is a bit heavier than the Para 2 which is my current EDC.
I think I will make an other review after I tested and carried the knife for a few months.
Here are the pics! (sorry if they are a bit blur, made them with my Iphone)
