I recently received a RR small (3.5" closed) "work knife" with linerlock and brown burlap micarta (Tater Skin) covers, a generous gift from joeradza joeradza . It's a first-class knife! I want to show it off here, along with 3 other RR work knives I've acquired over time.
Here's my new knife:

Here's a shot of my first RR work knife, also small, but without linerlock and with amber jigged bone handle:

Here's a large (4 5/8" closed) RR work knife with linerlock and black micarta covers:

Here's a black wood lockback RR work knife (4" closed):

We have a tradition of visiting the Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Pigeon Forge every year when attending Shades of the Past car show. We generally do a fun challenge, everyone gets $20 and then we compare purchases to see who did the best. Back in the day most everyone would end up with some off brand el cheapo flipper or fixed blade and I would get something from Rough Ryder. These days our entire group generally hits the Rough Ryder counter and leaves with something from them. I love it and to tell the truth, I really look forward to seeing whats new from them.

This year I already knew what I was after thanks to this thread and was really impressed that there were 4 or 5 different handles and blade differences to choose from but these two won out. Well, technically the Blue Jeans knife won initially but then I saw that there was a carbon blade version and had to have it.

The rest of the weekend I had thoughts of taking both apart and swapping the handle scales around but I will likely just keep them as is and enjoy/abuse them like the previous generations of Rough Ryders before them. The quality is definitely way way up on these and I find myself thinking even higher of the brand. The guy at the counter told me (like they always do) that if anything happens to them to just bring them back and they will replace them, no questions asked. I told him that Ive known that for some time now but have never had one break or get wonky despite abusing them like the cheap/replaceable tools that they are. I LOVE my more expensive GEC's and some of my Case knives (they are hit or miss lately it seems) but when it comes to a knife that will see some hard use...my Rough Ryders seem to always get the call and I look forward to putting these two through the paces!

If that blue jeans model was about 3 3/4-4" it might be "the one"
I 100% agree and I NORMALLY dont pick up or use Folders that are this big but these things scratched two itches I didnt ever have until recently. 1) Sodbuster style and 2) Liner lock. They are too big for me to consider them for EDC which is a shame but I will likely make a belt sheath for them and carry when outdoor doing rougher jobs. That smaller "tater skin" or whatever its called version would have made its way home with me without pause had I found one while there but I didnt see anything like it in the displays.

After seeing the "Tater Skin" handled knife and talking to joeradza joeradza I had to pull the trigger and get one in my hands.

They are correct in calling it a "Small Work Knife" thats for sure. Great little knife outside of maybe being just a smidge too small for what I want out of it. It snaps to attention and locks up like a champ and looks great while doing it. Now I only with they made a "Medium Work Knife" that was in between these two!

I will continue to carry this little guy and see if it grows on me like the Case Peanut that I often have on me did. Great little knife if you are looking for something about this size thats ready to do some real work tho for sure!

Just looked at the faded blue jean series. If not for the double pulls on the primary, I'd be pulling the trigger on the 4.75 inch (4 3/4 inch) closed stockman this month or next.
I love a large stockman. I Detest double pulls, though. They're a deal murderess. ☹️
