Sketchen Scales Customs

Everyone who has seen and touched this knife can not believe how, smooth and "sexy" it fills in your hands. I have dealt with Steve many times and his work is unreal. His communication is also top of the line. As example he has repaired a Spyderco Chinese Lum Black Scales that after about 5 years of HARD EDC was shot. It now looks great and is fresh to open and close. Insides were completely gone. He did wood scales on my Browning 610 ats 34 knives 108.jpgknives 101.jpg. The Browning 610 ATS 34 Seki City Japan, is IMO the most overlooked Browning ever produced. Steve's work, and what I call ART, made a great knife, super great. If you have not used Steve's services you have missed a treat. Steve is a master and a great, honest 100% solid Guy, who makes a living doing what he loves. So glad to see a good guy doing well. Give him an opportunity, you will be impressed. And stop worrying about shipping a knife, Steve babysits EVERY detail of your business transaction. If it is not right, he will make it 100% or refund you. He is an innovator to say the least. Thanks buddy, you always amaze me.:)

Thanks Eric! Chugging along here.

Just finished this Lum dejavoo for a friend:

Oh,nice . I like that kirinite pattern. That is one I never tried and I like it.
Great work pal. See you around.
Matt

Thanks Matt.
Tell usaknifemaker you like it. They're just trying it out and only have thick pieces until there's more demand. Resawing kirinite is a huge pain, I don't reccommend it...

I certainly will. The kirinite sells like hot cakes when I use it. But too many patterns are, you know. But lava, desert camo, toxic green and now this. I dig it. I will tell them. I love the folks over there. They have the best customer service.
Thanks again for the wood. You think kirinite is a pain. For me kirinite is my easiest to work . Wood is much harder for me lol. But you seem to have that down. Wood might be easier to finish though.

The trouble is cutting a thinner slab off a thick piece. It warps slightly from the heat of the band saw, which makes a straight clean cut very difficult. Lots of waste.
The nice precut slabs are the way to go!

Spyderco Dice with snakeskin spalted sycamore. The coloration looks quite different depending on the lighting and viewing angle. Beautiful stuff.
