It's dyed brown with black edges that kind of seep inward toward the middle.

Vinegaroon is magical stuff, you can see the color of it on the Q-tip, it's clear with an amber color. I drew two lines about as fast as you would cross out a word when writing. You can see how quickly it turns the leather black.

Tim just came through with a nice piece of blue denim micarta from Shadetree. I think it's gonna go perfect a with natural leather handle.

Her radar may pick that up:D

I'm with you Shel, not a fan of blue, but I'm not really a fan of any color in a knife...other than maroon for some reason. I need to try out some colors though.

5.5" might be the sweet spot for that knife, at 6.5" I think it's gonna be Lee Marvin badass, 5.5" might be Steve McQueen cool.

After I finish this thread, I've got a couple projects planned and I'll add a 5.5" in there.

More on that in a bit.
 
This thread will end after this large blade. After that, I want to do three things. Work on some small full tangs, orders and requests, and put out a model that will have some basic options. Instead of mashing all three of those things into one thread where we all get cornfused and things run together, I'll do a seperate thread for each, so it might be three train wrecks instead of just one!
 
Sounds good! Choo Choo! (there's a funny train story there; I'll tell you about it someday, over tequila - the good stuff, none of that Don Nobody rotgut)...
 
I watched an English program about weird things in the world, one part was about massive dust storms that make these walls of dust. Well apparently they are called Haboobs. My inner 12 year old laughed like hell when the British narrator had lines like.... I've seen haboobs and they were awe inspiring....haboobs can come out of nowhere.... Later in the same episode they found dead bats with their brains eaten. It was a bird killing them..... what kind of bird?.....The Great Tit. He went on and on about Great Tits and how devestating they were.
