Spyderco Bodacious - The Greatest Knife to Ever Cut

I'm now really intrigued by this design. I wanted to love the Manix II, which was my first "expensive" Spyderco, but the choil just killed it for me. The Bodacious doesn't have that problem.

I don't think I could resist one in FRN and Cruwear/Magnacut/SPY27/K390/...

I'm just not sure I can buy it with s30v. I

We have it so good these days that I've caught myself saying the same. Also don't discount the fact that Spyderco seems to make the best S30V I've used so far. No arm twisting intended here but just because it's no longer the best stuff doesn't mean it's no longer good stuff. No, it's no longer exciting but it's far from dead.

I’m not claiming it’s not good. It’s just not exciting to me. Smi strongly prefer tool steels these days.

Good morning,

Been a while since I've edc'd a Spyderco but the Bodacious is looking like it could be a contender for an edc. I like the looks and that it does not have a choil.

For those of you who have owned one or still do, what are your thoughts.
It’s the best Spyderco to come out the last few years. I swapped out the stock G10 for some contoured AWT aluminum scales. Even in stock form I prefer it over PM2, Para 3, Shaman, And Manix 2.

I'm still loving mine. I almost could have let the S30V blade be a detractor, but I'm glad I didn't. though it's not exotic and has minimal super powers, it's a really solid choice. my primary knife for just shy of two decades has been a Benchmade Dejavoo. If I can make it 19 years or so with that blade, I'm pretty sure I can finish my life with the same.

That being said I really, really am hoping for a cru carta version, K390, M4, etc. I'd be among the first in line for that.

Does anyone in here happen to have both a Sage 5 and a Bodacious and would care to post a picture with both alongside each other? I'd love to get a visual representation of how much bigger the Bodacious is :)

Admittedly, I'm a "hard-use" fixie guy and not much of a folder snob. With that, I've always had a "thing" for the Shaman but wasn't exactly in love with the short cutting edge/finger choil design.

As I've posted before (*and as a "PBR" fan), I feel like Spyderco made the "Bodacious" just for me. It has seen at least as many "dog walking" trips and late-night jaunts to the convenience store as my Cold Steel SR1 and ZT 0308s.

I'm kinda' LOVIN' this thing... ❤️
