It has the mikled holes and the notch. I wasn't sure about the jimping and the little logo on the back of the blade seemed lower.

Hi, I was hoping you guys over here in the Spyderco forum could help me determine if I have a counterfeit Police 3 G10 or not? Does this look right to you all?

A beat up C12 civilian
Love the Civilian! Just calls out to me in a way. It is beautiful. The fact you say it is beat up, did you use it in a utility sense? I was thinking it would do well for some tasks.

That model isn’t made for utility. If you like the shape and want a more usable knife check out the matriarch.

I thought I was responding to a different thread with that response, lol.

The handle looks off to me, but could be an older model.
I saw one with mother of pearl grips and serrations on the back, that was the nicest one I've found.

Look at how bad this Civilian tip is... Geez, some of the fakes are scary good, the Matriarch here could fool me. But, look at that limp little tip! Ew! And they have the hole, they just airbrush it out for reasons of Chinese OHO laws, and to throw off Spyderco's trail.
I just had to show this. And to tell people out there that Civvies are being faked. Didn't know that. I just bought an ATS-55 Civvie.

If you receive a clone, how should you mark the blade as such, without power tools? Should I try to scratch the Spyder logo off, or mar the ricasso logos if I can't engrave "FAKE" into it?
I think I have a fake M4 tanto coming in and I do not want it to be ever passed off as genuine or confused with the real deal.

I would mark it with a 10# sledge lol.

Lol, straight up, I just want the pretty Jade scales, honestly. I am very curious to see how a fake-ass comp-lock feels. I have had someone today report that they have never had a comp lock that drop-shuts without blade play... ALL my comp locks drop shut and have no blade play, except the one I put together myself for the first time, tiny amount of BP, but I did that to it.

I might flick it a few times and if it's heat treated even use it as a beater, but I guess if I don't give it away, no one'll be able to sell it as fake. Maybe I'll make one of those real vs fake videos and test it to destruction, or use it as an example.
