Survival Set? What do you attach to your sheath?

I keep a multitool in the pouch of most of my large FB sheaths...;)

almost all of my neck knives I've set up as "kits"- I like to think of my survival gear as layers and my neck knife is generally my last layer

the sheath gets wrapped w/ cord (usually 12-15'), I secure a small firesteel to the sheath and normally a whistle and photon light complete the "kit"

they are very flat/compact and the weight of the kits (including knife/sheath/etc) have been right around 4-5 oz- nothing your going to notice too much

JK Hiker Backup- this one I went a little further (via the video) and added a MRE hot beverage bag and two micropur tabs, as well as two tinder tabs to the rear side. I have the whistle and photon to the front and setup so you can lift the sheath and give it a squeeze for light

The belt pouch can and be hung off the fixed blade sheath or used separately. It's sized for a multi-tool or folder.

The firesteel and ceramic rod are held in loops on the back to keep them out of the way.

fishing...if not for survival type of stuff the hollow handle is always a good place for a shot of Bourbon

Don't really wander that far anymore to justify it.But,for those that still do it's not a bad idea.

Looking at the picture and description of Extreme ratio survival knife from a recent thread got me wondering what you guys carry and attach to your knife sheath?
Personally, I don't go in much for the survival kit in a knife/sheath idea. Just not enough capacity to be really worthwhile. I pretty much limit my sheath attachments to fire steels and/or pocket stones.

I always take two knives with me on survival trips. My primary is either Fällkniven F1 or S1, my secondary a folder (Bradley Alias 1, Al Mar Sere or Spyderco Military). And of course a Victorinox Huntsman. Sometimes I also bring a large 'chopper' with me like Busse NMSFNO or Scrapyard SOD, but overall I find them too heavy for not much use, so I stick to two smaller knives + Victorinox.

You guys slay me.

The only thing I've ever attached to a sheath in my life is a piece of blaze orange surveyors tape.

If I had a dollar for every minute I spent looking for my sheath in the leaves after gutting one wild creature or another, I might be able to buy enough tranquilizers to calm you guys down...

Ive been thinking lately it might be good to pack a spike or smallpry bar with a fixed blade. Something to really abuse when its abuse time.

Love that pliers sheath Ramm9.

Forgive me if it is bad form to link to a post on another forum in reply to this but I was really impressed by the amount of gear this guy has on his sheath. He explains that everything in the kit is redundant in that he carries items for normal use in his pack.
It is a well thought out kit for use in emergency situations when you have been separated from the rest of your gear.
Check it out here: http://www.bushcraftusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=696&highlight=becker+knife+handle

Sheath is still being worked on but when done it will have a removeable pouch and firesteel loop. They will attach to the piggy back straps. The pouch will hold an altoids sized tin. So it could have tinder in it maybe a fishing kit or first aid supplies. Depends on the trip and the need. Sheath is being made by wildmanh here on the forums.

Snakedoc here on the forums put together a sheath for my RatManDu recently. I wanted something with removable screws so I could break the sheath down. He added a really nifty pouch which holds a ton of stuff. I intend to do a review later this week. It's a frigging AWESOME sheath! Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures.

was kinda looking for something different, but blah its not even on extreme's sight i guess i am shit outta luck

unless somebody on here has the super google foo and can find a place who has the extreme kit

lol wow i guess finally after years of searching :) i found it and to say the esse kit looks better is a understatement unless somebody has a hook up or much better price wow. i mean the contents are only worth a bit and their knives are nice but really are they worth busse status plus some
