Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

I'm no expert on this, but I also think the pa da would be limited to crime in pa. How much of this stuff went down when guy was in Idaho. Also, rounding up a significant amount of aggrieved customers can present an issue. Prosecuting survive is a logistical headache that might not be worth the squeeze. I think the fact that the pa da got involved, and to my eye, clearly helped shut down the con by letting guy know he is on watch, was a significant action in the ending of this story.
I agree. Compared to other things that an attorney general probably has to deal with, some floundering knife company with 2 million dollars in debt probably isn’t the top of his list. I bet the summer intern is working this one.

Yeah, and to hunt down those 3k victims who still have orders, most of which have nothing to do with your state (survive was in Idaho and the customers are all over the country) seems like a waste.

If only people had been warned against giving survive their money

It’s been interesting reading all the despair and regret on Reddit. This thread was referenced lots of times. There’s so many survive! Supporters that are now having to eat fist fulls of crow.

Somehow a myriad of honest and capable makers are making outstanding knives from the "inferior" product being sold by Crucible and NSM.

So, choose. Whom do you wish to believe? The words of a scoundrel, or the words and combined experiences of those makers and their multitudes of satisfied customers?

That's called a preponderance of the evidence.

I rest my case.

Don't forget the so called "influencers" who helped in keeping the scam going.

Some are still defending.
"While I waited, I managed to snag a pre-sale (wtf?) factory first GSO 4.1, and then later when the de-carb issue happened, one of the small Cerakoted 2.6’s. The fit and finish is beautiful on all three, and they are my absolute favourite knives. Can’t fault Guy or Ellie there in any shape or form. It may be an unpopular, hot take right now over here, but they most definitely weren’t a scam - they produced beautiful, functional, high-value tools."

That’s painful to read. I see some people are in the “well I defended them once, and I was justified in doing so, and I got my knife, so S!K is still alright by me” camp.
I'd say you’re speaking out your ass with both those numbers, and the fact that they will never be delivered or refunded. Very few people in this world know the answer to that question so I'd suggest not spouting off what you read online. 😉 all that aside though, I couldn't care less either way. Have a good day!

If there’s one thing that might come out of all of this, it might be that YouTube talking head credibility has taken a hit. Heavy Set tactical, regardless of intentions, sure showed he had no idea what he was talking about. It was fun watching beachmaster beachmaster swing fully into the “S!K is dead to me” camp after it imploded. No points awarded to that guy.

Oh yeah, anyone who'd be interested in prosecuting him would have plenty of evidence.
That stuff doesn't go away.

My concern right now is that the PA AG is going to look at Guy in his current destitute situation and determine they don't want to take legal action.
I doubt that he is destitute. His wealth is most likely hidden in some legal entity, like an LLC. A judge could rule to open any legal way to protect assets.

I can't say for sure (obviously, few truly can) but I know what I've heard and what I believe.
I believe that Guy's been living in his shop, based on what I've heard from Heavy Set Tactical
I believe Guy's probably got gobs of unfinished product sitting in boxes, which probably constitutes a significant expense, again, based purely on what HST said and what we've seen for years in his videos.
I also believe Guy's in debt up to his eyeballs, both because of HST's comments about 40k/mo losses and Guy's comments about "predatory" lending. (his words, but here meaning he assumed debt he couldn't pay off).

HST's integrity might be in question, but I believe he's got no reason to lie in his current predicament.

We've all known for ages that Guy's been running his business preorder to preorder, and it sure wasn't because he was making a profit.
The fact he wanted 75k of HST's money was probably just more proof that he's got nothing left to piss away.

... And he's also getting a divorce from Ellie, so I imagine he's going to be hard to keep that hidden wealth a secret, if in fact he's been playing an even longer con than I give him credit for having the brain cells to play.

Bumbling idiots or successful con artists exiting the game with a sizable monetary score. I tend to believe that it’s the latter. If there is a divorce in the process, I would think that Ellie knows every shady detail, so they would need to settle out of court, rather than risk exposing all financial records and LLCs that could get federal and state tax people involved.
