Tanto Blades Suck with Example

Impeccable Google-Fu sir!

But the saw back helps absorb energy during batoning. How can you say no to improved batoning?

What the hell? I think OP should put down the knife and get a nice pair of safety scissors.

Clearly this happened because you didn't use a proper banana knife. :D

Can't have the glint off that fresh banana giving away your position during night ops.

They do tend to self-tacticalize after about a week. Putting them in the freezer speeds things up, plus increases the HRC of the blade.

Similar to bullets made out of dry ice - frozen banana tactical knives are the bane of crime scene investigators.

Power is work over time.

Not possible for a blade steel to produce power.

American tantos don't even penetrate well.

As far as I can see the use / purpose is to have strength and rigidity near the tip.
Reasons for having rigidity near the tip :
  • Prying the hub cap off your car wheel (most cars no longer have hub caps so . . .).
  • Using the knife as a piton for anchoring a climbing rope. (careful which way you orient that edge :p).

YMMV

Cryogenically treated blade = more power.

Poor OP, just cut his finger using his powerful knife to separate a banana bunch in a civil manner. Four pages later we're still talking about bananas.

We are messing with powers we can not fathom to understand, a Tactical Banana Blade is no joke. It is not a toy. What's next? YouTube videos of people slicing pig carcasses in half?

The Hutzler 571 never needs sharpening. That was a big improvement over the 570, if I recall correctly.

Just when I thought sarcasm was dead.

I think I'm in deep trouble. My americanized tanto is made from Spyderco VG-10
I think the only safe thing to do is reserve it for cutting plantains.

The only SAFE thing to do is wrap it tightly in lead foil, put that in a lead lined box, place the lead lined box in a safe/remote vault for hazardous waste storage. One of the municipal water storage tanks in your area should suffice . . . legend has it that those closest to schools are "safest".

PS: terrorist police dudes . . . you know I'm kidding right ? :o

Has anyone blamed the heat treat yet? Must have been the powerful Carpenter heat treat was off...
