Book of the Sword talks about the fighting technique of shotel and shield, using the point to attack to the opponents side. They always look to me as if they'd be nasty slicers, as well.
As for the khopsh we discussed in email, I might be inclined to pick it up as funds pool for such an item. I don't think I'll be able to find a better example than the one you've go there...
