The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

Yes, it will just darken with age, no handling required. Ozone does it too I think. Up here in the thin air of CO, it seems to darken rather quickly. I just got this EDC 1.2 a couple days ago, and I wish it would stay this nice butterscotch color. But I will be able to see a pretty noticeable difference in just 30 days based on my past pieces.

I'm in utah, so hopefully it darkens as easily here!

Sadly, the force it took to crush the steel toe caps enough to amputate toes, would’ve resulted in the loss of the toes anyway.

It was brutal, entire tractor tipped over onto him. It took a bunch of us just to tip it up and pull him out, but the damage was already done. Ambulance took him to the hospital. Something I won’t ever forget.

I’m curious how you would know if you were able to score something on the drop. Would I get an email or a message on here? If so what’s the timeline? This was my first drop attempt and not too optimistic I was fast enough.
Look at your post number in the upper right of your Friday Sale entry post, if it is lower than the total number of knives offered for a given Friday sale, you are most likely in. If it is higher, then you are most likely out. Nathan said the total today was 25.

Would CPK ever consider making a ferro rod notch an option? It would be very handy on the EDC knives. Here is a picture of what I am talking about.View attachment 2812803
#Not Nathan, but if it’s going to be called a Ferry notch, hell no lol. Even if not called a “Ferry” notch, still no.

He’s made a post in the past about a notch in the spine compromising its integrity. Depending on location, even worse, especially since his knives are all about utility and strength.

If it’s on a small knife, not a chopper, I don’t see how it could matter. Also, such a small radius seems very unlikely to compromise anything even on a large chopper.

Not hard to carry a striker, just handy to have a sharp edge that isn’t the true cutting edge on my main tool.

Why would any of you care, since it would be an option, and a super simple one to grind in on request?
