THE BUSSE CHAT THREAD!

BIG shout-out to Becky and Garth, today!

A few weeks back, I drifted the port-side scale on my "Stonehenge" HR2, about .020" along the spine. I'm pretty good about NEVER striking a knife on the scale portion of the spine. So, I don't know if this was the result of an errant strike or just a bad beveled/hollow scale pin. Either way, it really wasn't a big deal. However, the HR2s fit my hand like a glove, and I could feel the bottom edge of the scale...which was driving me nuts.

I contacted Becky, who confirmed the Busse Combat mailing address. Between her and Garth, my little HR2 returned to my front door with everything squared-away and copacetic. They even knocked some of the "ugly" (*scars) off of it, and got it back to me with a fresh new edge... (*No questions asked)

I guess that whole "Busse Knife Group encourages extreme usage of our blades as they are without question 'The Toughest Knives in the World'." ain't no bullshit. 👍

Anyhoo, one of my "weekly" usage knives is back in the game.

Man, that's a good looking blade. I'd rather see it with a longer fuller and no swedge, but it's still high on my list. The Stonehenge scales look great.

Thanks.

I posted this in another thread...I have a few Busse & Kin knives, but the HR2 and my little sterile "Government" Mountain Duty are the two that REALLY give me butterflies. When I saw the Stonehenge "Ganza(!)", I just HAD to have one. I did my best "Faust", sold my soul to the Devil, and crossed my fingers.

At first, I told myself that I might (*and that was a BIG "might") not use it, and just put it on the bookshelf with my 20th SHBM and Nuclear HOG Gemini. But, like my first tan & black G10 HR2, this thing was just begging me to pull its hair and be rough with it. So, enter a trip to the Ranch (*and a few hungry hunters needing wood for some grilled fajitas), and the rest is history.

I know some of you guys are diehard Busse fanbois, and some of you (*like me) like to play with other brands. Well, one of my absolute FAVORITE outdoor/overnight blades is my TOPS 107E. That thing has some kinda' "Voodoo" in the design that makes it an absolute wood grenade. The HR2 is very much like that. When you're out in the middle of nowhere, and grab from established woodpiles like I do (*with large sections that are basically cut for bonfires), the ability to harvest usable pieces is HUGE.

Here's my little Stonehenge going back to "true"...

I've seen it on the exchange a few times. Can someone tell me what a "blizzard beaten snow hole" is?

Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys. Whether alone or with Family & Friends, I hope y'all have a great one...and get to enjoy some great vittles.

Thanks for all the pics and knowledge. 🍻
