according to the car, we hit 80 today with bright sun -- the only day this week with no rain in the forecast.
I finally got my tent and tarp dried out from the gathering.
what's the price like on the procut?
super premium, or a little more affordable than some of the other newer steels?
Temptingit's really affordable, exactly the same price as AEB-L.
These prices are all nominal 1/8"x1.5" for comparison (they come in either 4ft or 3ft lengths). A Kephart takes about 9-10" of steel (call it 12" for layout loss and accounting purposes).
1084: $6.75/ft (cheapest stuff I buy, and performance/price ratio is off the chart)
ProCut: $10/ft
AEB-L: $10/ft
CPM154: $28/ft (while supplies last?? Not sure what the future of everything CPM still is exactly, Niagra's figuring it out)
Magnacut: $38/ft
Esee does have kydex for the 4 and the 5.The scales are not fit right along the spine and by the finger guard area. The screws are wrong (shouldn't be torx) and fitment looks sloppy. The grind toward the choil is bad and I don't think ESEE would send that out the door. I could be wrong, but I don't think ESEE ever does kydex, either. They have molded sheaths.
Does the box / knife under the scales have "China" printed anywhere on it? Most clones that I've seen of other brands have it printed, as they're not trying to fool anyone, but they are ripping off patented designs.
