The TRADITIONAL sunday picture show!!!!

And now for something totally different. What has a blade, could be fixed or folding, but no sharp edge? Never had a sharp edge, nor was it supposed to? A butter knife? Not for today's post.
How many of you thought "artist's pallet knife"?

A HIBBARD SPENCER BARTLETT & Co, a J. RUSSELL & CO GREEN RIVER WORKS, and one marked RUSSELL (curve) USA. I hope this inspires someone to go paint something memorable for Father's Day! Enjoy! T-A

Cool stuff! I’ve never heard of such a thing before. Thanks for sharing.

If I'd seen the middle one, alone, I would have guessed it was a Physician's Knife.
I have heard, and it doesn't surprise me, that palate knives were great tools for counting pills and measuring out powders. I'm sure that many were used for that purpose by physicians and pharmacists, alike. Thanks for sharing your fine example; I am happy to see that there are others besides me who appreciate and accumulate a wide variety of the things we call cutlery and the history that goes with them. Happy Father's Day! T-A

I'm sure :) Thank you for the kind words. Here's another folder without any sharp edges :)

Outstanding Ron :)

To my amazement, after only two months as caretaker of this Muskrat, it has become a highly appreciated favorite of mine. Don't let the patina fool you. It's in excellent, almost unused condition, cost just over $20, fits my hand as good as any knife I've ever used, has near perfect action and is an incredible slicer.:thumbsup: I'm smitten. :)

BTW, I think the patina makes it look healthy, like an athlete with a nice overall tan.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY GENTLEMEN!

The tiny little three bladed piece my mom gave to me when I was probably a teenager. It was not new at the time, and I have no clue where she got it. All have tooled sterling silver covers, and all, I'm quite sure, are made in Japan. The markings vary and might include the words TOKYO. JAPAN, and/or ORIENTAL. Thanks for watching! T-A

Last week I posted a pic of an Old Timer in this thread and wrote "I'm smitten". Today I'm recognizing how fortunate I am to have a few knives that are as good as that Schrade 77 while still thinking there is none better. Here it is once again along with some of those.
