Traditional Bowie

A very good client wanted a carbon steel traditional bowie, with a brass guard and jigged bone scales. This is the design we agreed on. I typically make more complex bowies with rounded spines, hollow grinds, palm swell, flared butt, hamon, coining, mammoth ivory, walrus ivory, and on and on. After I finished this bowie, I was taken aback by the lines - to me it's just.....iconic. All comments welcome.

Agreed. My dad had a Bowie from the 60s that looked very similar, stag included. Straight lines, no nonsense, lots of heft. Wonder if it’s still in a box somewhere...
