The Douk Douk I have had for a bit and forced a patina on it to prevent rust. Also don't try and add more patina to the handle, it will end up stripping the coating and end up looking mottled like mine.
The 5 Coqs I just received this week and am quite fond of it already. Fontenille Pataud's customer service is also quite excellent I must say.

Is the blade on that knife carbon steel? If so, I may have to pick one up. That is a great picture and you have piqued my interest.

Knife is made by Deejo from France and gifted to me for Father's day by my middle daughter, good kid 
and in the background is a photo I took of one of our grandson's that is Carter, from a troubled birth at the hospital he ended up with cererbral palsy due to the nurse's incompetence, tragic day, he's 16 years old now! still can not walk or talk but he's a good kid and of course we love him!

I made the little stand from walnut, using an 1/8" chisel I carved in the slot for the knife to rest as you see it there.
