Traditional wallet vs. minimalist vs. other?

To me a wallet folds, I don't want a card holder or glorified money clip.

I'm sure they're great for a lot of people, I just don't consider them a wallet.
agree. Just like carrying a flashlight, mini pry bar, and several knives. I NEED my stuff, and some of my stuff is carried in my wallet.

I don't really carry any EDC type stuff in my wallet aside from an old coin I like to keep on me, but I'm simply just used to an actual wallet and they seem like they cover and protect my cards more.

I really miss my old wallet that I had to retire, I don't know where my dad got the pattern when he made it as a kid almost 60 years ago but it has a snap flap coin pocket inside which really came in handy.
I'm suspecting it was some kind of make your own wallet kit.
One of these days I may have to make myself a copy of it, because beyond that coin pocket I also loved it's slightly smaller size that fit in a larger variety of jacket and shirt pockets.

I had a make-it-yourself wallet kit about that many years ago, maybe a little longer. Leather was pre-cut and holes drilled. I just had to thread cord through the holes to make the wallet.

I've not seen a wallet with a snap cover coin purse in it for several decades. Not enough need for coins anymore. (As coins go away, we are going to need a replacement for the term "cold hard cash".)
