Vintage Buck 119 info?

Thanks David. Can't beat first hand experience. That is great information and I appreciate your follow up. I'll check the grind on the one I have coming and will let you know.

Here is a 3 spacer 119 with a swivel sheath and a sales receipt from 1977. Pretty good evidence that 3 spacer 119s and swivel sheaths appeared earlier than suggested.

This is correct. I have the same purchased new in 1979. Also have customer info card dated 12/78 with it in yellow one piece box.

Was going to post these as my Sunday Picture Shows photos. But, with the 110 flood, didn't seem right. Besides this more 119 science fair stuff. 300

My odd upside down stamped, three line, four spacer 119.

Placement of fiber washers (2) at guard of same knife.

Pommel of same knife with two fiber washers. Note tiny nic in edge of pin hole and/or pin..

Sheath I got, for better or worse till death due us part.

Thank you for this information, sharp thoughts.

300, not sure which I like more - your knife or your photos.

Knife arrived today. It's a beauty in new condition. The blade on this knife has soft grind lines and a thick edge just like all my other Bucks from the 70s. It is definitely not a full hollow grind with sharp grind lines. 3 spacers and swivel sheath.

If it has papers maybe they are dated. DM

The printer's code on the Use & Care paper is CL785200m. Joe asked me to send this information to him for analysis. I haven't heard back from him yet. He suspects that the box/paperwork isn't original to the knife, which is no big deal to me.

According to Joe, the printer's code reads, July 1985 200,000 units. He wasn't sure what the CL stood for. Bottom line - the box and paperwork isn't original to the knife.

TAH, thanks for the photo. On your model it looks like the edge profile is not as thick. Making it further along. Perhaps late 1981 or 1982. DM

David, it's just the lighting. It could be early 80s, but the edge is just as thick as my other knives from the 70s.

A recent purchase the first I have seen an early 2 line blade with 2 rivets in the but cap. is this unusual ,Looks factory, or a possible repair ?

Some call that as having; one is a pin and the other from a plug on the mold. Your knife was mfg. between 1969-1971. DM
