What Buck Do You Have on Order? Or in the Mail?

My USPS account says we have a package in transit from Post Falls, Idaho. Thing is, I didn’t buy anything from there.

Label created on Friday but no shipping update yet.

Good chance that my wife got me a Buck knife for Christmas. Could it be the December 2022 BOTM that I passed on? I hope so but I’ll love it whatever it is. I’m pretty excited about it. Haven’t mentioned to my wife yet that I saw the notice.😊

Probably shouldn’t get my hopes up as there must be other vendors in Post Falls besides Buck. Could be something she bought for herself.
 
Still waiting for my 303 and 112 Slim Pro TRX to be delivered but I noticed that Copper + Clad still has some of the discontinued 112 Ranger Pro's (G10, S30V) in stock so I put in an order for one while they are still around (new).
 
I decided to force a patina on it.

I didn't want to do the paper towel soaked in vinegar method. It tends to leave a pattern from the towel on the blade.
And I wasn't into having little flowers all over the knife....
So I concocted a vinegar and coffee mix and soaked the blade.

Well the wife got me distracted helping her with something....

I should have set a timer.

Well it's almost black.....
But I sorta like it.

I suggested to my wife that we take a short day trip tomorrow. She mentioned that she has a Christmas present for me arriving tomorrow and she really doesn't want it sitting on our porch while we're gone. Might be more than just a t-shirt. Needless to say, we aren't going anywhere.

I feel like a 61 year old man at Christmas. 😁

Just ordered a 656 Pro. Been thinking hard about it for awhile now. Finally got sick of my Schrade SCHF30 shredding the crap out of the critters’ peanut bags instead of neatly slicing them open, which prompted me to go back on the hunt for a replacement, ‘cept this time I’m not cheaping out. If it can’t cut clean through a plastic bag, wtf good is it … and I wasn’t all that impressed with it in its brief use outside, either. Seeing Amazon had only one of these left and they can get it here before Christmas, I finally quit hemming and hawing and bit the bullet. Should be here Saturday, and then I have a whole week off to play with it and hopefully put a dent in that growing pile of boxes in the garage.

For a while now I’ve been seeing Buck 119’s out there mostly for around $70. I noticed Amazon had them for $55 yesterday so I finally bought one. I can check that one off the list. Someday I’ll try the 119 pro but that one comes after the 124. Been really eyeballing that 124.

If the reports in this thread are true, you better buy that 124 soon. It sounds like the 124 is discontinued for 2023. Out of nine online stores I have bookmarked, only two still have them in stock.
