What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Ring pull knives are interesting. I've never had the opportunity to handle one in person. Does it effectively lock the blade open? Or is there another purpose? Canal Street made a run of these a few years ago. Cool little knife

Hi Mike,
as far as I can tell it is a device to assist opening only, there is no locking function, the pin does not pull out it only twists parallel to the blade opening/closing direction. A big help to old arthritic fingers I suspect.
That is a brilliant idea though which I might take to the drawing board. :)

17040464963802031753357203488847.jpgI take this to my thursday poker night, I place it on my cards after I receive them.i won so it's staying the week lol.i think I might force a patina, people ask to look at the knife and ask why it's dirty.i don't want to have to keep answering that it's carbon etc.

Happy New Year or New Year's Eve as the case may be 🎆🎇 I intend to stay home tonight. Maybe have a scotch or two. Might even stay up until midnight :D

Same here. There's too much drinkin', drivin', and shootin' off fireworks around here on New Years Eve. I might step outside to watch for grass fires or bottle rockets on the roof at midnight. 😆

Happy New Year, Porcheteers!

Very impressive!!
Thanks, it was fun and therapeutic as well to sit down and sharpen my new to me Viper last evening.

And here I am using an old stone like a peasant!

That’s one dandy bit of gear you have there sir!
Thanks, I enjoyed building it and now using this 3D printed sharpening system :)
The peasant way is very good though :)
Freehand stone sharpening is an essential skill and one I definitely wish I was better at it

Wow Dan! I’m not sure what I’m more impressed with…whittling a hair, or 3D printing a sharpener 🤔.

Or…having a chickadee land on your knife???
Gracias Jon.
I owe you the chickadee on Viper pics
Soon  :)

I really enjoy your posts. Your photos/videos are always 👌🏻. Good stuff, brotha.

Gracias mi hermano

My knives of the year. Thank you Paul for selling me the BF'16, she's going into the new year with a new edge (Sliceytown for real).
I appreciate all of your pictures and words, more than I take time to express. Sorry for every comment I didn't respond to, it's been a fantastic but busy year for me.
Here's to the New Year, may we all have new problems (but without the old ones). 🤣 🎉
