What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Are you an iced tea drinker? Not that there's anything wrong with that...
Vik is a dedicated tea drinker. Hot, cold ~ usually both. Green tea and English Breakfast each brewed in a quart mason jar, then put in her big pink mug and filled with ice. Hot brewed ginger tea in the evening. Hates coffee, but when I grind my bean in the morning, she loves to stick her nose in the grinder.

Very nice people in Georgia. At least outside of the big cities. Traffic in and around Hotlanta will raise the hairs on the back of your neck.
I've been known to enjoy the sweet tea occasionally, but am really a confirmed coffee drinker. My wife Karen, loves the smell of freshly ground coffee but not the taste.
From the few visits, I see why the term, southern hospitality, is an aptly applied phrase.

Several people seem to pair up those two knives, and I can see why! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Case 6347 in SS. My first example of this pattern
Congrats on the 6347; that's my favorite Case regular stockman pattern! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I have a telescoping magnet which will be just the thing. I even know where its at - in my small toolbox which is buried just as far back in the trunk as it can get. I'm disinclined to unpack that much stuff for a non-emergency. I'll get it tomorrow after unpack the car.
Mike, which SAK model has a telescoping magnet "blade"? That would be handy! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
I hope you have a good trip!

Propitious pair, Paul! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Always nice to have some "long green" in your pocket! :thumbsup::cool:;)

As Mr. Berra might also have said, 'Good Catch' !!! 🤣 ...
Yogi was indeed my inspiration for the remark ... 'Pocket knife collecting is 90% shopping around. The other half is luck.'
🤓 That quote can also be found as "90 percent of this game is half mental", but I like the version you used better.
(I think my favorite saying that allegedly came from Yogi is, "If the people don't want to come out to the ball park, how you gonna stop 'em?")

Totally random. I just laid them all out at the start and whichever one looked interesting each morning got carried. If there had been a pattern I'm sure you would have figured it out. Glad you found the variety interesting.
:cool:🤓

Superb stag, Mitch! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

... Although I have a Northwoods Presidential getting some luvs too.

A Presidential by any other name would smell as sweet! :thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Thanks, a new pair about every 4,500 miles they dont last.
Thanks for the info; I'm surprised they don't last longer than that! 😲

Hi Gary,
Sadly I am about 80 miles from the Atlantic now. I guess trading the ocean for cotton fields will be an exciting challenge.
Bob, the Georgia Atlantic water is probably too warm to be refreshing anyway. 🤓

Thank you Gary! :) I had some surface rust form because I didn't clean it good enough after cutting some food. I decided to protect the blade from any more pitting or corrosion and I think it looks better as a bonus.

I like the bone on your RR. 👍
Thanks for the additional info and for the RR compliment. The first RRs I ever had were a set of 12 different patterns, all in amber jigged bone like that. I liked that bone very much when the knives arrived, and it may STILL be my favorite jigged bone from RR. :)

Headed to town for dog food (Abby is eating us out of house and home),
We're going hunting today. Not for bear, deer, rabbits, or squirrels but a bag of bagels, and a bunch of four bananas. It seems that, while we were in town for a span of three hours yesterday, our new dog Abby hauled two bags of bagels (1 bag of small, 1bag of large) and a bunch of four bananas out to the backyard and buried the bagels and the bunch of bananas in the yard.
Cindy and I had a successful hunt yesterday. We found the bunch of four bananas and a bag of bagels buried and covered within four feet of each other and lo and be hold, we found a package of Red Vines buried not six feet away next to the back porch. Cindy thought she'd eaten the Red Vines but no - Abby had hid them.

The loot.

Abby refusing to take responsibility when I called her over to view the evidence.

It's funny that she didn't try to eat anything especially the candy. I guess she's a hoarder.

I'm carrying the knife in the pictures again today.
That's a great story about Abby, ED! 🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup: Good detective work by you and Cindy to track down the stolen goods. Where did Abby get the food she buried? Did she have to open cupboard or fridge doors, or climb up to get packages off tables or countertops?

It’s so frustrating enjoying case and not being able to get them.

Fortunately I did win this one a while back on another forum. Love it. Incidentally it’s today’s carry.

Vivacious vintage Case, Jack! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: What pattern number is that, and when was it made?

Very handsome stag Le Thiers, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Breakfast with some tea and Beni before heading out to work this morning.

Beni, as always, is breathtaking, Jeff! :thumbsup::cool::cool: How is the wrist recuperation coming along?

How do you like that Barlow with the screws instead of pins?

Nifty nature photo of that noble Northfield! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

One of our road trip tradtions has become seeking out good bbq joints. Today we found Mission BBQ in Clarksville Tennessee. Right by Fort Campbell ...
Great Memorial Day post, Jeff. :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I recently heard that The Monkees' song "Last Train to Clarksville" was referring to Clarksville TN by an Army base, and the rest of the lyrics are certainly consistent with an American soldier shipping out to Vietnam and wanting to see his girl before he goes. But according to Wikipedia, the guys who wrote the song (Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart) claim they did NOT have Clarksville TN in mind.

Captivating canoe! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes, I’m in Sacramento and the A’s are playing in the Giants AAA park in West Sacramento. It’s close enough I’ve ridden my bike to a game. It’s been fun to see big leaguers in the small stadium. It feels kind of like spring training. We’ve gone to several games already.

In the time it took me to consider that idea I’ve started feeling good enough to tie my shoes 😁
From your photo, it looks like a nice stadium. Do they have a "Green Monster" in centerfield?
Glad my suggestion could help increase your post-op flexibility! ;)

It’s county fair time here. My daughter is in 4H and is showing a rabbit, so we’ve been at the fair the last couple days. I’m carrying my bunny knife in honor of her rabbit Gus.

Did she have a rabbit in a previous year, too? Has she ever read Watership Down, about a rabbit community?

Cool holiday knife, Rachel! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
Are those striped covers celluloid?

Dynamic duo, Steve; superb stag on the lambsfoot! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Little man prefers the spey as a main lol.

I always forget to add one of these wooden knife kits when I put together an order! :thumbsup::cool:;)

Böker Bunny Barlow is a beauty! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

She will be 13 this year. It's funny you should point that out, because I saw her pull that Sodbuster Jr. out of her purse this last week and showed her this picture. Out of all of my kids, she's the most interested in pocket knives. Here's a shot of her current rotation:

VuBNIU4.jpeg
Top right is a Case. Bottom left is a Queen. It is from when the Daniels owned Queen and would show up to all of the knife shows with knives to hand out to the kids. Great program that had my kids excited to see the Daniels every time we went to a knife show.
Thanks for the info, Cory; those are some classics in her rotation! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: What model is the Case on the upper right with the lined bolsters?

Good holiday pair! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks! The Barlow is somewhat of an acquired taste I guess. It is pocket friendly, f&f is as good as I’ve seen on a RR. Steel liners and the stone wash on the blade give it some jazz. No wobble or play at all. Slicey out of the box. I kinda wish it was just a tad bit bigger. Overall, a good purchase.

...........it was actually my dinner - instructions from the missus to get rid of the eggs n bacon in the fridge that were past sell-by date while she was out for the night.

Not the breakfast of kings, as some call it.........perhaps, dinner of paupers

Cat scroungers - oh, yes - one of the two boys always lurks. Never fed from the table, so the biggest commotion is when I have finished and walk the plates back into the kitchen - they know that's their tit-bit time..!
No, I think it's a fine dinner and if that's for a pauper I'll take seconds thank you :cool:

I was making a sarcastic remark about it being possibly breakfast with an eye-opener glass of Scotch :D🤣

Thanks, Will

I like the round bolsters. Both of my Texas Jack's bolsters are square.
Medium, with a medium stockman:

The large Jack is awesome. Case nailed it in that particular one.
Great way to start your Georgia residency. Awesome knife.

Now my friend, go easy on us Southerners. We operate at a relaxed pace.
Tea is to be consumed ICED AND UNSWEETENED. Some prefer it hot, but as I tell my hot tea drinking wife, that is wrong in so many levels.
I do like Vic's style of the quart Mason Jar. That is how I usually brew mine. Then some ice in a repurposed pasta sauce jar pour the tea over the ice and enjoy.
