Packing things for a trip to the countryside, to spend a few days with friends and celebrate midsummer as is the custom here. My favourite knives are getting smaller, 100 mm is the absolute maximum for woodcraft, kitchen knives are a different story. My food prep knives and these two will come along, to be honest I would do with just the Casström as a general use knife and use the kitchen knives for all else. But the Tommi-puukko just fits the season. I really should get some kind of folklore dress for these occasions.

Latest estate sale find. A US made novelty knife. I wasn’t a huge fan of H. Ross Perot as a candidate in 1992, but I did like his little known brother ‘Ross H. Perot!’ 🤣 I think this is likely an Imperial (?), but I’ll leave it to those more knowledgeable!

Behold, the Boker Barlow. For when you want to open a box and look like you could also whittle a canoe. This little masterpiece easily may have happened when a lumberjack of small stature but great renown and a Victorian clockmaker collaborated on a pocket knife. The blade, made from O1 tool steel is so tough it probably sharpens itself out of boredom. Meanwhile, the copper bolster screams, “I may cut twine, but I also appreciate fine whiskey and leather-bound books.”

And let’s not overlook the covers, burlap micarta, which sounds like something you’d find at an urban farmer’s market. Or if someone asked, “What if we made a knife handle out of coffee sacks and unfiltered ruggedness?” The copper bolsters should age with an interesting patina, just nature’s way of saying, “Nice knife, bro.”

This folks, isn’t just a pocket knife; it’s a small heirloom in training. Just add several decades and questionable decisions. Your grandson … or granddaughter, not that there’s anything wrong with that … will Thank You.

Good knife and well written!

.20 cal have a few Sheridans myself
Currently I just own my '79 blue streak that I've had since I was a teenager and this '80 E pistol, but I have wanted an H pump pistol for a very long time.
I've got a Crosman made H9 in .22 that I love, it's just not the Racine Sheridan H that I really really want.
Ebay recently screwed me deciding they won't allow airgun sales to California based on a very poor interpretation of some recent airsoft related law , so it's not gonna be easy to get one now.

A pair of favorite Camillus today.
The Stockman has the short line tang stamp, and the other side says 68. Found greasy and grimey in the bottom of a shoebox full of broken Boy Scout knives at a flea market marked $6.

The cilantro is blooming to make more seeds for me. I never need to re-seed the pots outside the kitchen ~ nature does that. All I need to do is pick what I need.

Various herbs like cilantro, dill, fennel, and parsley have gone native all througout the gardens, outcompeting inedible weeds. Even some varieties of tomato. If they're in the way, they get moved or whacked, otherwise, they are welcome.
Starting to see some asparagus that has escaped it's original beds, too.
