What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Out in glorious old English sunshine, what a bonus,we have to make the most of it.😎

I rode my Motorcyle here, there and a little bit everywhere.

As usual I met some intersting characters and saw new sites.

The 77 is perfect for me I can open it with ease,I like the size and both blades work fine.

I used the pen blade early on my journey to cut the rubber rain wipe of my new gloves,it had to precise the gloves cost me £180. 🤪

The rubber made it hard to operate the clutch as it kept sticking.

Where there's hope for everyone
Where my poor restless heart's gotta run
I know there's a place in the sun
And before my life is done
Gotta find me a place in the sun"

That IS a lot of work. Do you paint the ends and let them dry?

How was your Trad Archery Shoot the other day?
I sealed the ends and the bark side with shellac to prevent drying checks. Summer cut staves are the best for removing the bark, slipped right off in whole pieces from end to end.
The archery shoot near Monroe WI Friday was great. Weather was perfect and the property was just beautiful. There was a vendor selling hand made fixed blade knives but the table was unattended while I was there and neighboring vendors had know idea where to find the maker/seller. Just as well as I have more knives than I need already. There were some fine ones on the table, mammoth bark, vintage micarta and wood scales. Thanks for asking, Jeff.

Roper and Big Red today.

This knife feels like an old friend, from probably my favorite GEC run of all time. That first big run of beer scouts was so much fun. I spent last night reading through the old posts from that run, reliving memories from ten years back. What a great time.

My father-in-law and I also had some great times popping caps together. I got lucky and managed to land a Soda Scout initially, while my father-in-law received a drop dead gorgeous chestnut sawcut bone.

I remember the 70s well. I can remember being fascinated with all pocket knives and especially Case knives, which were always featured in a showcase in every hardware store. I would look at them like longingly as I couldn’t afford one, but told myself that someday I would have one. I have several from the 70s and before, with the ones from the 70s being among the best ever made.

In the 80s I began driving and muscle cars were the cheap cars because gas was well over $1 a gallon (it was around 50 cents a gallon in the 70s) and everyone was getting rid of those gas hogs.

Those were indeed the good old days.
There's something special about these old Case knives. Every time I put one in my pocket, it sparks my imagination a bit. As a "younger" dude (40), I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to grow up in 50s, 60s, 70s... You know... quality pocket knives, muscle cars, no computers... Ok! I'm done. 🤣 Welcome back to two-factor authentication

Camillus no.1 and 23 again. They really didn't need it, but I ran them over the Spyderco Sharpmaker that lives in the kitchen silverware drawer just to make sure.

A school photographer once told me that when confronted with a particularly homely child, he would try to pose them in an attractive setting to get a more appealing photo.

I made that up.

My daughter and I will be going to visit Mom this morning. I have beans, tomatoes, garlic, onions, peppers, potatoes, squash, and some herbs to share. Now that she's alone, and not cooking for Dad anymore, she tends to buy and eat crap factory made food too often. Plus, she eats like a bird.

I made that up.
I thought so. School photographers just want to crank them out. Or have to just crank them out.
The RRs:

The Culpepper's blade is the same length, but my prototypical big jack has the long and the short blade.
I'd like the black one more if they hadn't defaced the bolster and if they'd made more clearance for the main nick. The stag(?) one has a slight waist and a slight curve in the main blade's spine, which disgusted me originally, but doesn't look so bad now. Maybe I'll carry that one today.
It might be worth filing the pen's tang on the black one. Or it might be even more worthwhile to leave it alone.
As always, I dislike the eyelash nicks on both pens.
