Who Are You?

I am a 59 year old electrical engineer/manager, retired from a large electric utility. EE degree from Auburn University, MBA from University of Alabama-Birmingham. Married for 34 years, two adopted children, one 10 month old grandchild. I am presently full-time caregiver for my 23 year old daughter, who was a hit and run victim in July 2002. In my second (post-bypass surgery) life, I am a 6'8", 265 pound nutrition and fitness nut, with my primary
fitness activity being weight lifting.

Because my daughter's requirements for full time care have severely limited my outdoor activities, my primary outlets now are collecting Busse knives, weight training, following Auburn University sports, and playing with the grandson.

Got my B.S. in Computer Science from OK State last year.

I am currently a Computer Tech. dealing mostly with Distance Education at the college level.

I soon hope to start the M.S. in Telecommunications Management program at OK State and then teach some at the college level in addition to my current job.

Oh yeah, I like knives...:D

I got my 1st knife Christmas day 1978 2 days after my little sister was born. Why a felony was not commited soon after I will never know.

Currently I am and Invetory analyst for a large book distributer. Married for over 10 years to a wonderful woman who still doesn't know that she is too good for me. And her addiction to Photography makes my knife/gun obbsesion look positivly normal "Why do you need a new knife?" "How much did you spend on film last month?" "Nevermind"
Two great kids who like knives almost as much as dad. They both got a SAK swiss lite when they turned 6, and my daughter got a SAK Huntsman for her 10th birthday this year. And then got it taken away for a month when she left it lying around two days in a row. (I also have the title as the meanest dad in the world. Two years running.)

I’ve been geeking professionally for about 12 years. Married 13 years with 3 kids. (No Gus, HUMANS!) I’m an officer in my local Masonic lodge, and I try and ride about 2000 miles a year on my bike. My EDC is a BM 42.

Oh Boy! I get to talk about myself! :D

I'm a forty-three year old fireman. Married for thirteen years. No children.

I have been a firefighter for twenty-one years. An EMT for nineteen of those years. Shift Captain, over three stations, for eight of those years. Actually, the third station was only built a couple years ago. I intend to retire at the end of this year. Health reasons. Nothing too serious, but I don't intend to die of a heart attack on the fireground. Not sure yet what I intend to do when I retire but I will be working.

Before I was a fireman I was a Marine for four years. Artilleryman. 10th Marines. Served in Beirut in 1982.

I have also served in the Air National Guard as a medic for six years. Various part time jobs have included working with the local ambulance service, staining wood products and working in a convenience store.

My wife is a wonderful woman who puts up with me and my knife accumulation. :) I put up with her three cats. :D Actually I love our three cats. Like a lot of couples without children our pets have become our children. Isn't that sad? :) :p :D

Well OK here goes....I am a 34 year old GRUNT (Infantryman) in the US Army. Currently I am a Drill Sergeant at Fort Benning, GA, turning the youth of America into Riflemen. I have been married to the lovely Kimberly for two years and we have no children except for our four legged ones. A Rhodesian Ridgeback and Border Collie, both female.

I enjoy collecting knives(mostly Busses),cooking, and drinking beer.

MikeH, oh yeah before I forget ........

Nick

Hmmm. I'll join in. I'm 38, have a wife and 13 year old son. A Shephard\St. Bernard mutt and a Rhodesian Ridgeback. I'm a lawyer (grad of Syracuse Law), mostly civil insurance defense, working in Rutland VT. I'm morbidly obese according to the doctor's charts, yet surprisingly light on my feet.

I like all combat sports, boxing, wrestling, MMA (mostly watching not fighting), NFL Football, knives and guns. I'm an avid reader mostly detective fiction.

Wow! You people are impressive!

Given the depth of many responses, I'll share a little more about myself. I ride bicycles, play a little classical piano (no, pianos and knives don't go together), ride motorcycles, read a lot, make beer, and try-often unsuccessfully-not to complain about things. I have the world's sweetest German Shepherd (really, he's almost embarrasing), and I will adopt a stray I found on a bike ride once the pound releases him on Saturday.

Most importantly, I married a wonderful woman last August. It's amazing what can happen after giving up and resigning oneself to always being alone! She will graduate from nursing school in six weeks, which is a good thing considering how often I hurt myself. We are trying to start a family and hope to have good news soon.

Anyone else want to share?

hmmm...32 year old San Diego native (4th generation).
I'm a former kindergarten teacher, as well as a former corporate cog/analyst/trainer. I'm currently working from home as a technical writer in the bio-tech industry.

I'm happily married (just ask my wife) and the lucky father of an amazing 3 1/2 year old little girl.

I've been into knives, firearms and other such things most of my life, despite living in a state that prefers its citizens unarmed.
