I got the knife yesterday. I'm totally floored...it's just absolutely...uh, beautiful. In a purely honest, working class way. I just want to have it with me every day. It's already working some magic - I showed it to a friend (ex-military knife enthusiast) today, which led to a conversation about making stuff, which led to him asking me to make a sheath for his old duty knife that lost its pants.

Todd and Murph, I thank you both. I had a couple questions about care and maintenance, but I trusted it was OK to use for food - so the first thing I cut with it (washed it with a little soap first, just in case) were strawberries. Neither my kid or the sleepover friend died or got sick, so....hey, one question answered already ;)!

it's carbon steel - same care and feeding as old hickory kitchen knives and stripped Beckers. :D
