Has anyone on the forums met celebrities/musicians/people of interest? I have met several that I can remember. They are:

Vince Vaughn
Ron Jeremy
Dax from Punk'd
Jerry Jones (Owner of the Dallas Cowboys)
Keyshawn Johnson
Johnny Depp
Proof from D-12

I was doing valet parking at a nice beachfront hotel when Jerry Jones and Keyshawn Johnson were staying there for training camp and parked their cars.

Tom Landry (who took the time to shake the hand of every child in the class), Jimmy Stewart, Ludicrous, Jaqulyn Smith, Jane Fonda, Chuck Heston, John Connaly, Ann Richards, and that's all, I think.

I led a mis-spent childhood in Los Angeles -- attending USC in the olden days.

The Duke, Jimmy Stewart, Lauren Bacall, Old Blue Eyes, Burt Reynolds, Richard Widmark, The Barbara, .... George Lucas, Mel Brooks, .... goes on and on.

We got decent money serving as extras in films, TV, and commercials. Because we were ROTC students! Who knew short hair and drill could be lucrative? But the real benefit was the FOOD! Boy, they eat good on those sets... ;)

John Wayne...Part of the "McQ" movie was filmed here in Aberdeen, and I got to meet him during filming.

Kurt Cobain & Kris Novicelic (Nirvana)...They & Nirvana were from Aberdeen.

Metalica...A guy from Aberdeen was one of the winners of the MTV "Motherload" contest many years ago, and part of the prize was that Metalica came to, and performed here, in Aberdeen. As weird as it sounds, the guy who won the contest lived in the same apartment building that I live in (and lived in back then).

I don't really have any, unless you count the time Jenna Jameson got in my taxi and then said she needed to rehearse a scene for her next movie....

but my cousin used to be a coach driver in Queensland and often had to pick up celebrities from the airport. One time he had to go pick up a band and it turned out to be Pearl Jam.

Cheers, Acolyte.

Jim Belushi. Normally I'm a big fan... but I sure wanted to kick him in the nuts that night.

Hoo boy, long list. I can't possibly remember everyone, but here's a shot at it: John F. Kennedy (I know, I'm dating myself), Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Colorado Governors Dick Lamm and Roy Romer, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristoffersen, James Taylor, his brother Liv (Livingston) and sister Kate, all of the Rolling Stones, all of Pink Floyd, Barry Manilow, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Randy Travis and his wife, John Elway. I'm sure there are more I can't remember right now.

Oh, and when I worked in Nashville, Trisha Yearwood used to answer my phone.

...Randy Travis and his wife, John Elway...
Dang, I didn't realize that Randy & John were married...I guess John really went downhill after he retired from the Broncos.:D.:D.

Can't think of any celebrities. I've met George Bush, Sr. if that counts.
Not me, but imagine my surprise as a teenager in the 80s when I found out that my grandmother did accounting for a friend of Eddie Van Halen, and Eddie would apparently visit him occasionally at his sound shop.
I was at her house and there was something on tv about him and all the instruments he played when she asked what I was watching. This thing about Eddie Van Halen.."Oh, I know him." Yeah right. "Yes, right, he's a friend of Clyde's and comes by when he's in town, and they play their guitars and stuff."
:foot:

When I went to Blade, I was supposed to meet the famous Bastid.

As celebrities will do, he never showed, so I had to go to dinner with some guy named Gus.

Lessee... Trying to remember... Billy Squier (did an interview for a college paper- kept us all waiting so we college press types got hammered on the free booze in the hospitality room & the photog got photos of him eating chicken wings), Jackie Mason (literally ran into him rounding a corner on 6th Ave. in NYC), Leif Garrett (he & I made a pot of coffee when I was working for a radio station), Whitey Ford (signed an autograph for me @ a trade show), I once (1986) drove 2 Harlem Globetrotters from the sporting goods store I was managing (they were there for autographs) to Norfolk Scope. Spaulding Gray (met him downtown prior to one of his one-man shows- my GF & I were discussing whether he would be wearing oxfords or loafers while looking at a menu on a restaurant window- & he walks right up- had a nice chat), Billy Bragg (signed my T-shirt), Tim Butler (bass player for The Psychedelic Furs- bought me a couple of Bass ales after a show- a friend of mine who knows the band dragged some of the band into my local bar back in the late '80s), Sweetpea Whittaker (hangs in a local restaurant regularly), Charles Simic (one of my all-time favorite poets- met him twice- he signed a stack of books for me), Tim O'Brien (Novelist- Going after Cacciato & The Things they carried Hung out, talked & smoked after a reading), "Mac" & the Futureweapons crew- (they were in my bar- filming something locally), The A Capella group "The Bobs" (hung out all afternoon & did an interview w/ them in Berlin), Some Jazz musicians including John & Bucky Pizarrelli , Christain McBride (& a whole bunch I can't remember right now), John Ashcroft (we were doing food for a Navy homecoming & his son was on the ship- big security cordon on that one) Garrison Keillor (once sitting outside the Van Gough Museum in Amsterdam in '87- right after he "quit" doing Prairie Home Companion- and one sort-of 'fly by' after a season opener of PHC at the Fitzgerald Theater in 2002)

Seen a few here and there. I don't really care, so I have never asked them for an autograph. Funniest was Henny Youngman and his manager in the Miaimi airport. Here are two guys dressed lik movie gnasters and one of them is carrying a violin case. Did a double take before I realized who it was. My most recent sighting was last week in the Atlanta airport. I was strolling down Councouse E to my gate and here comes Andie McDowell escorted by a Delta employee. I've always liked her and, unlike some of the other acresses in her age group who get photgraphed out at the market looking gruesome, she still looks damn good at 50+ without really trying. My most memorable meeting was with a little gal who is not exactly a celebrity, but she was in a number of movies. Betsy Russell, who is best known for B-movies in the 80's, some TV work and for marrying Dick Van Pattens son Vince. She has recently taking up acting again and apparently appeared in the last two installments of the Saw movie series. She is about the only reason that I would ever consider watching those...lol. She just happened to be my ex-wifes cousin and when I met her I was thinking I married the wrong cousin because not only was she really hot, bu she was the antithesis of everything you thnk about movie people:p
Ah...forgot a few sports figures. The '73 Dolphins, Tex Schramm and a bunch of guys who I knew through going to Miami, including a few who worked for my Dad during the summers. The "celebrity" ones who coached or played in the NFL, etc would be Howard Schnellenberger, Bernie Kosar (spilled a beer on him once), Alonzo Highsmith, Vinny Testaverde, Glenn Dennison, Rob Chudzinski (Defensive coordinator for the Browns), George Mira Sr., Mark Richt.

Mel Blounte Pgh Steelers came into work one day, i got his autograph

Peter Cetera of the group "Chicago" sat across from me on a plane and we talked a bit. i could hardly believe it, but the small plane is the only way to get into central oregon wasn't any first class seats at the time so i guess he got to sit with the rest of us, lucky me. He has his little girl with him, i wanted to ask for autograph but didn't want to intrude on his time with his daughter.

I never met him but my biggest excitement is having Warren Buffets autograph on a letter he sent me, so he does answer some of his mail i imagine

Are they all Knife makers?
I only recognize a few names, I must be ignorant.

Are they all Knife makers?
I only recognize a few names, I must be ignorant.

They are all custom knifemakers, or associated craftspersons.

It is not a matter of ignorance, more than a matter of inexperience within that specific realm.
