Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Just got this new Case medium stockman in Denmark of all places.

Just kidding, I got this knife at a little town in Southern California. Originally settled by Danish immigrants, the place still remembers its Scandinavian roots.

My wife and mother bought sweaters to remember our visit. I got a knife. I think I made the better choice.

Great place. I was there a couple of years ago with friends. I guess I missed the knife shop :(

And a very nice 'roots' classic CASE, great pattern

Interesting place, didn't know they went in for Lingonberry jam like here or Sweden, it's very tart but good with cold meats. What I saw in Denmark when driving through is that many motorway lay-bys/stops have beautiful Cherry trees planted around them. Fantastic blossom time and nice eating (what the birds haven't had as Cherries are tall trees) Cherry Jam and liqueur popular in Denmark, the former my favourite jam the latter, er....Bourbon, Gin, Calvados, Cognac are better :D🤣

The latest in house arrival appeared yesterday in swift time too. A really generous present from KentuckyBlackBird KentuckyBlackBird not only generous but the knife passes all my demanding knife quality tests: F&F excellent, no gaps, no play, giant W&T, very sharp on arrival, excellent jigging, balanced, in hand very good and looks the part! Good thing it arrived now as who knows what may happen for knife enthusiasts who like knives from many countries with the current trade turbulence....? o_O

All I need do now is work on the patina project as it's a carbon slicer  Many thanks indeed Eric

I don't know how long that shop has been there. Maybe it was there two years ago, maybe not. What I do regret missing is the old Nordic Knives shop, which pulled up stakes and is now in Boise.

Thanks Will. I agree, others agree, Solvang is an interesting, quaint little town. Admittedly it is quite touristy. But I appreciate that the town has held onto what made it different.

Decided against the lingonberry jam. But I did eat aebleskivers and pandekagers for the first time. I prefer the pandekager.

My daughter also got a knife. I'm so proud. 🥲 She saw this Opinel and wanted it. What father could refuse?

I bought the medium stockman in Denmark, I found these two in Japan. Or at least in an old cutlery store less than a mile from Little Tokyo. I checked them out and they were beautiful, but like a fool I walked away. It's been nagging at me for the past couple of days though. I called the shop this morning and luckily the knives had not yet sold. I bought them and with any luck should have the knives in hand by next week.

I paid more than I would have had I bought the knives in person due to the shipping costs, but I'll consider it a stupid tax. I'm just glad I didn't have to add another to "The one that got away..." stories.

I’m happy to do it. This is such a great place filled with excellent people like you. Folks like yourself are the reason I feel a part of a community and have an emotional attachment to the conversations, posts, and banter that goes on here. Thanks for all of your contributions and kindness, Will. Enjoy!

It's my belief you will not be disappointed with those CASE Swaybacks...beautifully made small knives

Now you need to get the single-blade Gent variant ;)

I would have preferred that the chestnut knife was a Gent with CV blade. Alas, Case discontinued the swayback pattern in 2022 and I reasoned that one can't be too picky in these circumstances.

Ha, stupid tax, love it, I’ve added a new phrase to my vocabulary. Beautiful knives by the way, you made the right decision.
