Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

There’s nothing like receiving a gift from someone you love. My father-in-law is an amazing man, generous in every way and shares a love of knives. My collection...30 or so knives. His...rollin 500 deep and increasing at warp speed.

I can’t honor him enough. A man in his late 60’s, wisdom oozing from his pores. America is a country that foolishly idolizes youth and greatly disregards the extreme value of the older generations. Not me. Not on my watch. I sit at the feet of my mentors and learn from each story and scrap of advice.

Every knife he passes to me is a treasure much more valuable than bone, steel, and brass.

This one just came today, bought strictly because it's a perfect candidate for modification. Gonna make the secondary into a Wharncliffe. I have several 4" double-end knives with clip and straight edge, but nothing in the 3½" range. This one comes in at 3.44 inches. "After" pics in a day or two.

I was getting a little bored the other night. My wife was already asleep and there was nothing really great on television. I decided to look at a few knife dealers to see what they had available. I went to Mike Latham’s @knifeswapper Collector Knives to check out the goodies. I looked around a while and I decided to give this Maserin Plow a try. This one is the original model. I had purchased one of the newer models earlier, but since then I gifted it to my pal Harry @Old Engineer. This new Plow is a very attractive knife. It has Pao Santos handles and a D2 blade. I believe these were originally available in other handle choices, but I’m late to the party, so the Pao Santos is all that was showing available. The D2 blade has a very good flat ground surface and it only took a few swipes on a strop and it was hair popping sharp. I know a lot of people have this knife already but I just wanted to add my two cents worth. They are well worth the modest price.

The upper one just came today. Lighter built and fancier decorated than the cowboy one, which I've had at least 20 years and possibly 30. I would have said it's a punal, but the box says faca. There may be some overlap of those categories. Maybe I'll stick my neck out in Levine's and see if they can tell me something.
