When people shop in a store, do they consider cash vs. credit card? If you use a credit card the retailer has to pay a similar fee to the credit card company. It is a cost of doing business. Paypal is convenience, with a cost. If a person doesn't like paying the fees they can ask the buyers to send different payment, or they can increase the price to cover the fees and nobody will ever know the difference. So for the previous poster the $450 knife becomes about $462. Would a buyer pass on the purchase for another $12?
When I sell a knife I consider what I paid for it, and what I think the current market value is. Then whatever the sales price I deduct paypal fees and shipping and get to keep whatever is left. I don't do this as a business but as a hobby. Sometime I sell a knife for more than I paid, sometimes I sell a knife for less than I paid. If I was trying to do this to make money, I would do something other than selling knives.
