Dogs I have known - rescues - new homes and friends

I think yall are right about the Rhodesian Ridgeback. I looked it up and he is spitting image. He dont have the ridge but otherwise looks like one.

He looks like he fits right in, your other babies have obviously accepted him as part of the pack. He looks sooooo content in that bottom picture. He is going to be a great little buddy. The top of the couch doesn't look half bad lol... Pretty comfortable :D. Tell those boys to make room for mama, she is the beta queen ;)

if you read up on it you will find that not all have a pronounced ridge only the majority of the pure bred. Even some pure bred don't have the ridge. That's why7 I said probably mix breed like my Jake

Jake was found in a dumpster when he was a puppy - we think they were trying to breed them to sell and because his ridge goes the wrong direction (with the rest of the fur instead of the opposite direction ) they literally threw him away because they couldn't sell him as a Ridgeback

Some people should just go away - what kind of person would throw a puppy (or a child for that matter) in a dumpster. On the upside; because he was found in the dumpster he ended up at my place and he has proven to be my bestest friend

Some people are only alive because it's illegal to shoot them in the face. It's pretty sad when one ponders it.

Some people make it REALLY hard to remember that Bawanna. And some like the folks that would throw away a puppy OR a baby, it shouldn't BE!

watched a video yesterday about a dog that had been shot in the face with a shotgun with bb shot, placed in a black garden sack & discarded on the side of the road. a passer by saw the sack move, opened it to reveal the bloody dog inside & called the policce who called a rescue person. they retrieved the dog & brought it to the e-vet. he managed to stabilize it & remove some pellets. they named him 'buck'. he was referred to a specialist who managed to repair the holes in his eyes and retinas, but buck sadly is blind in both eyes. thruout he was a gentle and grateful dog, never growled and loved attention, especially belly rubs. he now lives at his new forever home and has mostly recovered. he is a happy loving companion for them and runs around with their other dog, you'd hardly know he was totally blind.

there are followup vids if you search.

if it were possible i'd chain the human who did that to a wall in an abandoned building in the boonies where no one ever goes & start shooting him in his extremities with a .22 lr. slowly working up from the feet, knees, hands, elbows and finally crotch before popping his eyes gagging him and leaving him. as a kindness, i'll forego the black plastic bag. won't tell you what i'd do if i were really angry.

This example and the one that shot the dog in the shoulder and tied it to the train tracks I read about just recently are people I could see making great subjects for tameshigiri testing. I wouldn't even wait till they were cadavers. Just go ahead and see if the blade is good enough to cut them in 2 at the hips.
I have always prided myself on taking up the sword as Katsujin-ken, the "Life-giving Sword", protecting the weak, destroying evil, and cultivating one's own spirit. I believe that this would therefore be appropriate use for people who treat Dogs that way!

I wholeheartedly agree, theres too many people in this world that think abuse of animals or anyone, for that matter is correct thinking. What pitiful, shallow and hollow lives they must lead. It would be beneficial for them and the world as a whole if they were turned into fertilizer?food for some forest, woodland or carnivorous animal.

a diesel powered industrial wood chipper is a great tool for producing said fertilizer. feeding them slowly feet first of course.

they also make grinding machines for chicken feed production on large farms. feeding them to the pigs or chickens would also satisfy karma.

Aweee, She is adorable. I love the little Rascal Scooter! She reminds me of Lt. Dan from Forest Gump... "Magic legs". I have a little Min Pin name Lilly that lives next door to me. She thinks she is the boss of the whole street and barks at every dog that walks by even if they are monsters. She is really a sweet heart that greets me everyday when I get home. I love that little Lilly Bug!

:) doggy with a dirt bike! how cool. looks like a happy chappy! is that his favourite toy? looks like a hedgehog in a santa hat.

I bet going strong is an understatement. Looks like a happy pooch that probably gets around far better than anyone would expect with those wide wheels. If I had to guess I would bet she has a little bit of a devilish sense of humor occasionally from the expression in that pic (takes one to know one, ya know?!?)

Thanks for the replies. She really is a character. She is a "full time dog" for my wife. They just got back from a two hour walk out in the pasture. Frieda love to chase the cows.

No bloodshed yet. Diesel scratches on the door to get in and go outside to do his biz. He and Otis (Dogo) run laps around the house regularly. When im inside they sound like a heard of buffalo surrounding the house. Hes been on a humpin spree lately but he has an appointment to have his manhood modified so maybe that will help?

My wife thinks he might be a Blackmouth Cur dog. He does look like the pics ive seen but he looks like Rhodesian Ridgeback too. All I know is hes brown and eats like crazy!

The Blackmouth Cur and Rhodesian Ridge back are very similar. The main difference is their size and stature. Most Ridgebacks are on the tall side, muscular yet lean. The Blackmouths I am familiar with look more like skinny pitbulls. They are shorter mainly because of their legs. They pretty much have the same body length but the Ridgeback has longggggggg legs.

well he is one leggy mofo thats for sure. I wake up in the morning with legs in my face, pokin me in the eyes and everything else:D

I showed the wife the pics of your new pal, ndog. She thinks he has mastiff in him instead of ridgeback. Shes usually spot on with these things. I've looked at a bunch of pics of both and think she might be on to something.
