Yeah, but even though I came up with one, I'm still doing this contest. I didn't count on coming up with one on my own, and when I did, I didn't want to cheat anyone out of winning the contest. I don't know if that makes sense.

makes perfect sense - you started the contest and are still going to award a prize to one of the players, even if you're not using their idea.
