  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

"Old Knives"

Schrade Walden continued to make this junior cattle a little later as the 856. This Ulster is a little earlier, but I am not sure whether it pre-dates Baer's acquisition of the factory in 1941 or not. There is some kind of connection here with Schrade CutCo jigged bone.

You can really see the original glaze finish on those blades. BRL said that frequently the master was crocus, but I would imagine that knives that were targeted to a hard working class would stick with the glaze finish.

Western States hobo knife I picked up last weekend at the Oregon show.

What an Old Beauty Barrett - nice pickup!
My youngest Daughter said to me once that she would really like one of those- I really haven’t seen anything I could get her.
I think a more modern one for her would more suit.
I’m sure - as much as I love that girl, that she wouldn’t appreciate something so nice that carries the History like yours,
😊👍
