For those who have orders with me please excuse me for I have really screwed up my back and have been unable to work for a couple of weeks. I apologize sincerly. I know a couple folks have sent their payment and I have been unable to complete their knives. I will get better and will get your knives done.
I really thought I would have been better by now, which is why I never posted this. But I am nearly two weeks into this and I am yet to be able to stand up for more than five minutes at a time before I have to sit down.

I have never encountered pain such as this and it is killing me to know that I have had a few people pay me, but have been unable to to work on my feet.

Rest assured though, I will make it right for you guys.

Thanks for understanding
Nick:)

Nick, I know what you are going through. I blew a disk in my lower back a few years ago and the pain is unreal. It tooks months before I was even a little better.

Then March first this year I got out of bed and fell down. My left leg was numb in the front and the pain going down the back of it was like NOTHING I have had before. I was taking 20 or more vicodin a day and nothing would help.

I went to several doctors, got adjusted, you name it, nothing worked. I was ready to have someone dress me in KKK outfit and dump me on the streets on the South Side of Chicago. I'm serious, I could not stand long enough to take a shower, or even walk to the bathroom. I was falling down several times a day and the pain was never ending. I got MAYBE an hour speel at any one time before I woke up in pain.

Then my sister said to try SpinalAid and see what they could do. Long story short I went over there, and signed up. In six treatments was down to 2 or 3 vicodin a day, and I could walk about 5 minutes before having to stop and I was finally sleeping four or five hours a night.

After 12 or 13 treatments I was pain free and haven't need so much as an aspirin since.

One woman was there while I was and she had neck problems from a car accident. She wasn't getting any relief at all. Her doctor said it was a waste of time to go there, but he wasn't helping her either. After her 16th treatment she was driving and she realised she could turn her head to check for traffic and she had no pain. She said she was so surprised she pulled over and and basically did a functions check of her body, and she was completely fine.

She showed me how far she could turn her head and she was doing a great Linda Blair head spinning impression.

She said she is finishing up the full 20 treatments on her neck and then going to get her lower back treated right away. She had already signed up and paid for her lower back to get done. She said it was the first time since her car accident in 1996 or 1998 I can't remeber, that she's been pain free.

Here is the web site and I really hope you feel better man. Believe me, I know your pain.

Nick, I hope you make a quick recovery. I've strained my back once, and that proved to be quite an inconvenience; I can only imagine how frustrated you must be by now. Hope you're up and running at 100% again soon .

Thanks guys, I will be looking into that link MrPan.

I have seen my Kiro several times over the course of this and I am now just starting to be able to stand for a little longer. Though I am still loaded up on Valium and Vicoden:thumbdn: That stuff will for sure bring ya down a notch or two.

I am gonna try and ride by Mountain Bike today, nice and easy though. It is really killing me not being able to move around like normal.

One doesn't realize how much we take good health for granted. Until that one fine day ou get your back zapped and down you go. I am really hoping I can be up and "running" in a day or two. By running I mean walking around:eek:

Nick:)

Take care and heal up man. I threw my back out many years ago, and it will still rear its ugly head once in a while. Just a couple weeks ago I could do no more than lay on the floor for more than a day. Every step was excruciating and it was days before I could walk or even sit normally.

Nick,
I hope you are starting to feel better! I bought a Hunter/Skinner from you last year and love it...so much that I have been eyeing some of your other models now that I found your website/forum. I'm the Soldier over in TACOM who went to your shop to order and pick up the knife. Top notch in every aspect! I blew out my neck last fall and was down for the count for a few months...so I know what you are going through!

Nick...Don't play around. See a Dr and get it thoroughly checked out. Back problems are for life and the more you damage it the more you will regret not taking the extra steps in finding out exactly what caused the pain. Picture that severe pain for the rest of your life. That's what happens to allot of people. I had a few doctors tell me I had a pulled muscle but I knew it was more. I found a back specialist and he put a die into my veins and showed me that I had a vertibrae so damaged that he was mad that I hadn't taken care of it sooner. I was one of the fortunate ones and am pain free now except on damp cold days. Get it checked!

Thanks again guys. I have been to two doctors and had many x rays. I should probably get an MRI. I also have been seeing my crack ro practor I am feeling a bit better today, I also have been hanging on one of those inversion tables. That seems to really help. One thing though I have been wearing a very rigid back brace and when I take it off I can feel the pain return. I am taking it as slow as I can. It kills me to be "lazy" Ya don't realize how much ya actually do until you can't do it.

I have another doctors visit in the morning too. I have been getting these electronic massages on my back. It sort of feels like my ass is in a light socket:eek:. But they do seem to help.

Nick:)

Ask your doctor about the Die inserted in the groin area. It is much better then an MRI and shows a better picture of things that the mri might not. Won't hurt to ask.

Good luck bro. My ex wife is a chiro and that has saved me many times. I've damaged my back before and had to damn near crawl to her clinic for treatment. The pain is intense. Take care.

Nick,
Hope your back feels better. I know what your going through my wife had spinal surgurey back in 97.

Sorry to read about your back injury. I know what that's like, there's no way to describe the constant pain to anyone who hasn't been there personally. Hope you get better and keep that inversion table handy!

Thanks guys, this truly has been hell. It still freekin hurts. Been nearly 3 weeks now. It is getting better though, just very slowly.

Thanks again for the support and concern
Nick

Nick,

I'm just catching this thread now. Seriously sorry to hear about your back. I did mine back in 2001 and it ain't never been quite right since.

Stay positive, love ice, and do the physical therapy like it was your new religion and hell is eternal back pain.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and continued success--you are a truly special knife maker and we need you here!

You need to take care of that back man, This is coming from someone who KNOWS what back pain really is...Go to a Dr and let them do an MRI and a CT scan of your thorasic and lumbar area to see whats up...

I currently have 14 "yup thats right FOURTEEN!!!" herniated/crushed discs and 8 of them touch on the spinal nerve constantly so I know how you feel man, PLUS I do car audio installations for a living so I am up and down all damned day as well

I broke my back this last April and was misdiagnosed for over 3 weeks. I had spine surgery May 18 (kyphoplasty) and I'm just now starting to recover. The biggest thing I think that reduced my back pain was calcium vitamins.

For example, my son and I drove to Atlanta for Blade 2010, about 4 hours away. By the time we got there plus the one hour wait in line (I thought it opened at 11, it actually opened at noon), my back was killing me. The pain didn't die down until I got back to the hotel and took several pain pills (Celebrex and Mobic) and another calcium pill. By 9 PM, the pain was almost gone.

I had started taking calcium Thursday PM and I think it took about 24 hours to take hold. I've been pretty much pain-free since Friday. I'm currently taking about 2000-2500 mg per day.

Good luck and I hope you heal fast.

Al

You mean a Diskogram like I had the other week?

Nick, I hope you start getting some relief. I suggest skipping your chiro and seeing an orthopedic specialist. Let a pro treat your back.
Hope your pain lets up.
