Why does the new software not hold my login?

I've switched my bookmarks to the Http S and that works

However

The "Categories" link and all the links under it are not "S'ed" and I get logged out.

It would be nice to navigate the site again.

Maybe those links need fixin ?

Maybe so.

Out of curiosity, I tried one of those non-https links you mentioned, under the 'Categories' heading, while logged in under my own account. Upon clicking, it opened up the linked page with me not logged on (as a visitor, in essence), and all the default theme settings in place (when I'm logged in, my own settings utilized the 'FA + dark' theme).

It seems to be a separate process entirely
; I say that, because when I returned from there to clicking on one of my saved 'https' BF bookmarks in my browser, I was immediately returned to the secure site under my own account, without having to log on again. In other words, as if I'd never logged out in the first place.

It seems as if some of the site's quick links are running in a 'parallel universe' apart from the secure site's pages. That's something definitely in need of attention...

Yeah, generally when you log into a website it starts a 'session' which keeps you logged in for a set period of time determined by the web devs who coded it, most websites have long-term sessions that last for a long time, leaving you logged in for months or more if you choose that as an option. It seems the https and http sites are separate and apart from each other and thus a session started on one wouldn't be valid on the other.

I just checked the 'categories' menu and the links there are just simple 'www.bladeforums...' links without the 'https' in front of them, while every other drop-down menu at the top of the page has the 'https' at the front of the links. Makes me think the 'categories' menu was missed in the transfer of all hard-coded links over to the new 'https' setup.

Been getting logged out constantly for the past couple weeks.
Log in, like a post and I'm logged out.

This issue just started happening for me yesterday.

Just finally got this issue solved also after several days. Today it wouldn't even take my log in details. Clicked on the blafeforums logo at the top of the front page and it opened the main page with the http and I was in. Copy and edit your saved bookmark with that new address and you should be GTG...

why hasn't anyone addressed this issue yet, I'm stoked.
Been happening me for 1 week now, it's really annoying

Just an FYI. This weekend it started making me re-log in every time after I had closed out od my browser. I never did get kicked off though. Running Chrome with Windows 10. Will try the https:// route....

Update: the https//: route is working for me

I could not even log in. It just flat out would not log me in.
I went to this tech issues forum and read the above.
I clicked the bladeforums logo at the top and got a new page and I was logged in. Saved that to my favorites and deleted the other link.
Seems every time they upgrade or do service work and the forum is off line you have to save a new link to the forum

Forum is not keeping me logged in and now is not letting me sign in from my laptop.

This has been ongoing, very frustrating, and obviously wide spread.

Bladeforums.com seems to use some tracking Cookies. If you disable Cookies, prevent tracking (something like private browsing or else), or set the browser to erase them after a session or when quit, your login info would not be kept, such that you have to log in each time (even if you check the “kept me logged in” option).

In my setting, my login is kept all the time regardless of the network. If I switch to private browsing on Firefox, I have to log in each time.

For the last week or so, when I log in and then click on one of the Sub-Forums, I get logged out and have to re-log in, again. I can tick the box that says "stay logged in" and then it does not happen, otherwise I have problems.

I had this same issue. Then, the site wouldn't let me log in the regular way anymore, and now, I have to log in through Facebook. I can't stay logged in, either.

Been having an issue that every probably ten times I come to the site I have to log in again even after I've checked the "stay logged in" box. Just noting it in case it's related.

After changing my bookmarks to include https, the only issue I have is when I right-click > Open in a new tab. In some sections it logs me out, but not all....and not always... definitely hard to pin down!

This is still a problem
Ads for memberships on login would be better received if things worked.
