I have these pics.
Very nice work!!!
Here is Bumblebee (home made handle, peter lagana hawk ATC).
Like most of you, I have quite a few axes/hatchets but these area a few of my favorites.
S&N 3 1/4lb Jersey head. 28" vintage handle. I just tapped the butt to get the head a little lower, tightened wedge and cleaned up the head.
KATCO 1 1/2lb hatchet. Tuned the head up and hung on a 15" handle. Handle fought me every inch of the way, probably should have scrapped it but I am stubborn. Weighs just under 2lbs as is.
Collins Old Timer 3 1/4lb Connie on a HH. Handle started as an octagon then I sanded the upper portion smooth.
Rogers 3lb Connie hung by COTS on a handle he tuned from a HH first turning back in 2014. SWEET axe to swing!!
How most of my axes spend their off time(99.9%)
Next project is fixing up my old pickeroon, long overdue.
1 1/4lb head Hults Bruk with a 15" handle wiped down with pine tar
Bine Rovtar 1080 high carbon carving hatchet with ash handle and custom leather sheath. Literally breathtaking in person. It's my new favorite. It's a little roughed up in the photos because I used it for 4+ hours as soon as it came in the mail.
How long did you have to wait for that? And do you use it or is it just a decoration?
I ordered it March 2020 and it arrived last week. It will definitely be getting used, just haven’t had a chance yet
Are you in the PNW by any chance?
Vancouver Island, BC, Canada
Fun to bust through these small, hard madrone branches.
Any recommendations on what to do with that marred tip besides sharpen it up best I can and keep whackin?
