This is for when they get a little bigger:

It was really tough to find lead-free ammo for hunting here in my home state, but I've managed at least a box for each one now:

i don't think that's a shotgun? blackpowder maybe, musket more likely?

Looks shotgun to me, trigger placement and where the barrels used to be ?
Looks like a break-barrel shotgun action to me too (it's pointing left, not right as I initially thought), but of course those were also made as rifles (but mostly shotguns).

Here are several things you don't see every day. Look closely!:

1994 Lipsey special edition .38-40?

ooh, very specific guess!

It's a .357/44 Bain&Davis.
Split necks are not uncommon, but the casing being cut in half around the middle is new!
It's like shooting a .30-30 out of a revolver.

I don't remember what E habitually carried on his hip in Tn (it was on him any time he was wearing pants and shoes), but there was a 300BO w/pistol brace that went everywhere with him in the UTV or in the truck as it was sufficient unto the day for any predator he might encounter.

Those are a prized bear defense sidearm in Alyeska.

Not to get excited about this place (politically) at all, but ...
.... that one a month krap just got tossed out.
I'm working on a load that would be a good bear load . I need to bring A.O.L. down by about. .05-.10 200 gr Missouri bullets steeler pushed by Bluedot . It's about all you want to shoot out of a 29.
Yeah I got one of those too 😁
