HNY to All .
No beer is better than Chimay, Barrett. Great way to start the year. Here’s one from last week in St. Louis.

And one from tonight, with my flashy New Years carry.

Barrett, you and other BF members with access to St. Louis breweries have often spoken highly of Schlafly products. In mid-November, I went to Total Wine and More, a relatively-new-to-me liquor store with a much larger selection than any of the grocery stores I usually visit, and found out they had Schlafly Coffee Stout. I bought a 6-pack to try. Here’s one from last week in St. Louis.

I remember you writing about that one, Jeff! I'll have to keep my eyes open for whatever Schlafly brews might appear at my new store.I haven't been back in St. Louis for over 4 years now, but my favorite Schlafly beer was their Baltic Porter. Incredibly smooth and complex and simply deelish!
Great way to celebrate Dave.

The BF recommendations for Schlafly seem reliable. I like the coffee stout very much, although it has a stronger coffee taste than any other beer I've tried that claims to have some kind of coffee infused into it; I hope it doesn't interfere with my sleep to drink one with my evening meal! Here's a photo of the beer along with a Rough Ryder "Blue Mule" canoe I bought so that my wife could give it to me for my birthday a couple of weeks ago.

So true ! Here it's the local beer. I live at 10 miles from the Scourmont abbey where the trappist monks brew it.

Dan.
When you can get a proper pour they are so nice. It’s really good stuff. I don’t buy it too often, but a couple weeks before Christmas it was on sale at Costco for like half the normal price, so I bought a few bottles.
Schlafly makes some really good stuff. You might like their oatmeal stout if you can find it. That picture I shared (from dinner at their Bottleworks location) was a double IPA. I also had their Doppelbock while we were there, and both were good. And I had several Christmas Ales at my brother’s, which Schlafly did this year for the first time in several years.
That’s awesome, Dan!
Been a while since I’ve had a Guinness!![]()
